"I want to be a pilot", said a Rohingya child while others wished to be teachers, doctors and nurses in the refugee camps in Cox's Bazar. Casey Harrity, the Director, Breakthroughs today visited Save the Children's education, child protection, health and WASH facilities and interacted with the communities. She also visited interventions in the host communities yesterday.

We organized the National Conference on Weather, Climate Services & Anticipatory Action with the Bangladesh Meteorological Department in observance of World Meteorological Day 2026. The program involved

- highlighting youth-led solutions for disaster risk reduction and climate resilience,
- analyzing challenges and sharing evidence to embed anticipatory action (AA) in disaster risk management systems,
- promoting innovation and models that turn early warning into action, and
- strengthening national collaboration for early warning for all to scale AA

The conference was organized by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) and Save the Children in Bangladesh , with technical support from Regional Integrated Multi-Hazard Early Warning System and funding support from the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), the event reinforced one key message, early warnings must lead to early action.
