A special thanks to everyone who took the time to sign the petition supporting the carpark project at Elanora Park.

The upgraded parking, as well as a brand new accessible pathway to the club, will make a huge difference to the Bugs Community.

Special thanks to Councillor Alex Givney for her continued support, we can’t wait to see these new projects take shape!

There's no better place to be this week than Wynnum Bugs.

It all starts Thursday night when the Colts kick off against Brothers at 7:30pm... always a cracking atmosphere under the lights, and this team has been outstanding all season.

Friday night, bring the family down from 5pm as the juniors train before the Reserve Men host UQ in a 7:30pm clash. Grab a bite, catch up with the club community, and enjoy a great night of rugby.

Saturday is the big one. Junior games fill the morning, then the Women take the field against Easts at 1:30pm before the undefeated A-Grade Men round out the weekend against Redlands at 3pm. The clubhouse will be buzzing, come and be part of it.

Eight rounds in, zero losses. We couldn't be prouder of them.

And it's a big week ahead, with our A-Grade Men's, Women's, Reserve Men's, and Colts all at home, all playing to represent who we are as a club. Game times will be posted later this week, but mark your calendars now. We hope to see you all at the clubhouse on Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday afternoon to cheer them all on.

Mud. Rain. Rugby. Round 8 had it all.

A-Grade Men kept their unbeaten season alive with a gritty 26–22 win against Brisbane Irish, Colts ran riot with a 48–5 demolition against Sunnybank, Reserves went down against GPS, and the Women faced a tough game against Bond.

Proud of every Bug who took the field.

Some news that makes us very proud at Wynnum Bugs.

Lehopo Leota, who played Lightning Colts with the Bugs just two years ago, has been selected in the Australia U20s squad for the 2026 Junior World Championship in Georgia. Now based in France with Racing 92, Lehopo's selection makes history - he and Kingbenjamin Swerling-Finaipepe are the first overseas-based players ever picked for the Junior Wallabies, a move designed to keep talented young Aussies abroad connected to the gold jersey.

It's a reminder of what grassroots rugby is all about. Players who start in clubs like ours can go anywhere, and Lehopo is proof. The whole club will be watching when Australia kicks off against Spain on 28 June.

Congratulations, Lehopo. Once a Bug, always a Bug.
