On 23 July, 22 ladies enjoyed a wonderful outing to Forget Me Not Café. We had a fantastic meal, great company, and plenty of lively conversation. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal, and the service was excellent.
After lunch, many of the ladies purchased plants and enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the nursery. 🪴🪻
It was a delightful day, and everyone had a wonderful time.
These outings continue to be a great way to enjoy good food, friendship, and fun together. 🤩🎉

Today, we were privileged to hear from one of our own Whittlesea VIEW Club members, Emma, a former Smith Family Learning for Life student whose inspiring journey is a powerful reminder of the difference that education, support, opportunity and determination can make.
Emma shared how, despite growing up in government housing with very little money and facing many challenges, the support she received through The Smith Family helped open doors that changed the course of her life. Now working as a lawyer for Legal Aide supporting children and women experiencing family violence and poverty, she spoke passionately about the impact of child poverty and the importance of giving every child the chance to succeed.
Her message was one of resilience, hope and gratitude, reminding us that every scholarship, every opportunity and every act of generosity can help change a life. Thank you, Emma, for sharing your remarkable story with us. 👏🏻🤩🥰

Eighteen ladies spent an enjoyable lunch at the St Andrew’s hotel on Thursday 25th. Although a little chilly outside we had the best seats in the restaurant. They, the hotel promised they would seat us close to the roaring fire, and they didn’t disappoint. 🔥
The lunches were varied and tasty and for $25 for two courses nobody went home hungry. As often happens when we’re enjoying ourselves we had to force ourselves to leave.😃

Sixteen wonderful Whittlesea VIEW Club members got together at our last morning tea in June. It was held at the Magnolia on Orchard in Doreen. We were asked to sit outside because of our numbers and it turned out to be freezing. We all warmed up quickly on coffee and chatter. ☕️🥳

Twenty of us enjoyed another wonderful outing, starting with a delicious dinner at Sir Henry Barkly Hotel on Thursday evening before heading to Heidelberg Theatre to see Birdsong.
Set during the First World War, Birdsong is a moving love story brought to life with outstanding performances, impressive sets and excellent production. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the play and agreed it was a memorable evening. 👏🏻
The meal as always was excellent , providing the perfect start to the night.
It’s wonderful to see our group continuing to grow, with more people joining us for these outings each time. We look forward to many more enjoyable evenings together. 🤩🎉

We finished off at Lady Sevin Cafe for a well deserved cuppa and more chatter. Well done ladies!! 👏🏻 If you’d like to join us for our next walk please see me at our next meeting or watch out for an email. Our next planned walk (weather permitting) is Monday 6th July.
