A small toy can make a big difference ❤️
 
Our Hospitality Carts are running low on individually packaged toys – the small surprises that bring comfort, distraction, and a moment of joy to the children. Already this year, our hospitality carts have handed out 7414 items, across our three locations; Nepean Hospital, Campbelltown Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. 
 
If you can help us continue this, we’d be so grateful. You can do so by:

Please note, we can only accept NEW toys. We'd specifically love SMALL, individually packaged toys, suitable for a child in a Hospital bed, such as:
 
• Baby rattles
• Small lego packs or Microbricks
• Small plush toys
• Barbie dolls
• Action figures - like Batman, Spiderman, etc
• UNO card games
• Match box cars
• Small general toys for girls and boys
• Boredom buster activities for teenagers
• Small craft items

A special thank you to Penrith Gaels Club for an incredible 18 years of support.
 
Through their annual St Patrick’s Golf Day, they have shown unwavering commitment to caring for families with children who are ill or injured. This year, their biggest yet, raised an amazing $15,996.31 to help families stay close to their child’s care when it matters most.
 
Your continued generosity helps remove barriers, ease the burden of hospital life, and ensure families can stay together, stay strong and stay connected during challenging times.

Verne’s eldest child, Jaidal, was diagnosed with cancer at just three years old. That’s when their family first stayed at Ronald McDonald House Westmead, travelling from Coffs Harbour for life-saving treatment.
 
Since then, this family of five has stayed with us for 76 nights - and counting.
 
This week, they have returned for a short stay and gifted a special book to our Learning Centre, written by Verne and illustrated by Jaidal’s grandfather. Titled The Kid With No Hair, it shares Jaidal’s journey through treatment and highlights the courage, imagination, and strength he discovers along the way.
 
Now 13, Jaidal has grown up with Ronald McDonald House as a home away from home for more than a decade — made possible by the incredible support of our community, helping us be there for Jaidal and his family throughout their journey. 💛

We’re proud to recognise Matthews Folbigg Lawyers for their ongoing support of Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney.
 
Now in their fifth year as a Room Sponsor at our Westmead House, they help provide comfort and stability for families staying close to their child’s care.
 
Their support extends beyond the House, from standing with us at WSBC Business Leaders Together for Families to backing fundraising events throughout the year.
 
Through Meals from the Heart, their team creates moments of care and connection for families. We’re looking forward to welcoming them back again this July.

Yesterday at the House, our families came together for a special Reconciliation Week dance workshop, led by Kerry Johnson from ❤️
 
Through movement, rhythm and storytelling, families were invited to experience and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures in a meaningful and uplifting way.
 
National Reconciliation Week is a time to reflect on our shared story as a nation, recognising the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It invites all of us to listen, learn and take meaningful steps towards a more respectful and inclusive future. 
 
At our House, this commitment is brought to life through our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2025-27, as we continue to build understanding, strengthen connections and create a culturally safe and welcoming environment for every family we support.

From early mornings to late evenings, every meal prepared, every family welcomed, and every small act of kindness you offer brings comfort and strength when it is needed most. 
 
Your generosity of time, care and compassion helps remove barriers for families, so they can stay together and focus on their child’s care. 
 
Quite simply, we could not do what we do without you.
