One of the largest and most trusted kids’ health charities in the country, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation exists to help provide all children with access to the best possible healthcare, whenever and wherever they need it. We have been delivering on this promise since 1986, raising millions every year for Sydney Children's Hospitals Network - including Sydney's two children’s hospitals at Randwick and Westmead, specialised care services, and cutting edge paediatric research, operating across NSW. A conduit, an enabler, and a mechanism for powerful change, we make sure funds raised go directly to the front line of children’s healthcare – from the hospital wards to the treatment rooms, the research labs to the outreach programs.

This Sunday, we’re Stepping Out together 💛💜

Tour de Cure Australia is proud to have Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation supporting Step Out for Cancer, as we bring Sydney together for a day of movement, connection and purpose.

Every step taken will help fund childhood cancer research and give more children the chance to not only survive, but thrive.

From the 6km Stadium Walk through Allianz Stadium and the SCG, to the run events at Royal Randwick and an entertainment-packed Finish Festival – it’s going to be a special day. And there’s still time to join us!

Last week, we unveiled the Bodman Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, named in honour of Kids with Cancer Foundation founder Peter Bodman.

For more than 25 years, Kids with Cancer Foundation and Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation have worked together to support better cancer care for children and families across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.

The unveiling was an opportunity to recognise the people, partnership and shared commitment behind this work, and to look ahead to the difference it will continue to make for children and families.

We’re grateful to everyone at Kids with Cancer Foundation for standing alongside us and helping progress children’s cancer care.

The ballot for the 2027 TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS is now open! 🏃‍♀️

The ballot closes at 10am AEDT on Tuesday 19 October, with successful applicants notified from 3 November.

Until the end of November, Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, is home to the final rotation of our 2026 Art Program.

On Ground Level, A Little Piece of Me celebrates the many influences that shape the identities of children and adolescents supported by Paediatric Palliative Care teams across Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, John Hunter Children’s Hospital and Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice.

Also on Ground Level, Precious Memories by Hyun Hee Lee presents colourful abstract paintings inspired by the artist’s own stories and experiences. The works invite each viewer to find their own meaning in the shapes, colours and forms.

On Level 2, Tilganga Eye Centre by Luis Winoto features black-and-white film photographs from a mobile vision-screening program in the Kathmandu Valley. The photographs offer a glimpse into the people and places involved in delivering eye care across the communities.

Also on Level 2, Silhouettes in Lace by Isa Hargrave brings the intricate craft of bobbin lace into the hospital environment. Some of the pieces were created specifically for the exhibition and draw inspiration from the hospital experience, inviting curiosity and imagination.

Together, these exhibitions show the different ways art can create moments of connection, reflection and warmth within a hospital setting, supporting whole-person health alongside clinical care.

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we’re incredibly proud to celebrate a partnership that has been making a difference for kids with cancer and their families for nearly three decades.

Today, we unveiled the Bodman Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, made possible with generous funding from Kids With Cancer Foundation Australia and named in recognition of Kids with Cancer Foundation founder, Peter Bodman.

Since 1998, our organisations have shared a commitment to improving research, treatment and care for children with cancer, and today marks a very special chapter in that journey.

Kids with Cancer Foundation’s $10 million commitment is helping bring the new Level 10 and 11 oncology inpatient and day units at Westmead to life – purpose-built spaces designed to support the changing landscape of childhood cancer care and help ensure children and families can access the best possible care, now and into the future.

We’re incredibly proud of what this partnership has achieved and to continue working together to improve care and outcomes for children with cancer and their families.

At just three weeks old, Gaia was diagnosed with a severe heart condition and needed urgent surgery.

Her parents, Vince and Caroline, were told that Gaia’s severe coarctation of the heart required immediate surgery. She was rushed to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where she underwent successful heart surgery and spent days recovering in ICU.

For Vince and Caroline, those days were filled with fear and uncertainty as they watched their tiny daughter fight to recover.

Today, Gaia is thriving, and her parents cherish every moment with their beautiful daughter, a future they once feared they might not have.

On World Heart Day, we’re sharing Gaia’s story and recognising the doctors, nurses and healthcare teams who care for children with heart conditions every day.

Trauma-related injury is the leading cause of death and serious disability in children aged 1–14, and the care a child receives after a serious injury can have a lasting impact.

The NSW Institute of Paediatric Trauma will bring together clinicians, researchers, first responders and hospitals to strengthen paediatric trauma care, from emergency treatment through to rehabilitation and recovery.

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation is supporting the Institute through philanthropy, helping build the expertise, connections and resources needed to improve care for seriously injured children.

Since opening earlier this year, the Patient Family Accommodation Program has already had 149 bookings, helping families stay together while their child receives care.

Families have travelled from across NSW, Queensland, South Australia, the ACT and Victoria to access care through the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.

For families travelling long distances, having a safe and comfortable place to stay close to hospital can ease some of the practical and financial pressure that comes with having a child in hospital.

Made possible through the generosity of our donors and partners, the program provides 42 fully furnished apartments at no cost to families receiving care through the Network.
