This might be Leanne's fourth year running a fundraiser, but it is by far her proudest, seeing her nephew, Spencer, as this year's face of Jeans for Genes. Their fundraising culminated last weekend at an incredible event at the Great Northern Hotel in Lake Macquarie, with raffles, silent auctions, live music, great food, face painting and a whole lot of community love, raising more than $10,000.

Cystic fibrosis can make every breath harder, yet Nikki found the lung power to cover a kilometre for every year she's lived with it, crossing the finish line of the Sydney Marathon in her first attempt. 42km at 42 – showing resilience and determination 💪

She was joined by four more incredible runners taking on the marathon for Children's Medical Research Institute. Tomasz actually found the marathon easier than the half marathon, but only because he ran the half in jeans!

CMRI board member Lucy thought her marathon days were behind her, then went and raised an incredible $10,000! New dad Liam had a great time running and supporting CMRI, while Jackson ran a PB without losing a beat from his signature energy.

Five runners, one goal: helping our scientists find cures for children's genetic conditions. Thank you all for going the distance!

Teddy, a former face of Jeans for Genes, is unstoppable, in the best way! Mum Lucy says: "Once he starts, he doesn't stop." Sounds about right for a kid who's already shown us all what determination looks like.

The head office for seed Heritage, Commonry, unison, Kikki.K and allkinds went all in for Jeans for Genes Day, and their stores rolled out the red carpet for Kenzie, spoiling her across all five brands.

Turns out when a business puts its heart into a cause, its customers follow. 150% more. That's how much more Brandbank raised for Children's Medical Research Institute this year compared to last. We're now around $44,500 closer to cures.

Nikki Kegg was told her life with cystic fibrosis might be short. So at 14, she started a bucket list of things she wasn't sure she'd live to see: finishing school, getting her licence, becoming a mum, running a marathon.

On 30 August, five days after turning 42, this incredible mum-of-four is running 42km in the Sydney Marathon for Children's Medical Research Institute, who she's been supporting since primary school.
