We’d like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Adeline who recently had a HUGE achievement! Adeline cannot walk or talk, due to the genetic condition CDKL5, but she uses a device to communicate and last week she asked for a hug for the very first time!!! Adeline, we hope that you are overwhelmed with cuddles from your loved ones on your special day 🎂🎊

Our Annual Meeting of Fundraising Committees took place recently at Children’s Medical Research Institute, bringing together our incredible volunteers from country and city towns to share fundraising ideas, achievements and inspiration. These volunteers that we consider the “life blood” of CMRI give their hearts and souls to further advance genetic research which they were able to hear firsthand from our researchers at the event! 💙

Huge day of support from Lexus of Chatswood members, who have doubled their fundraising efforts for Children's Medical Research Institute this year and raised $10,000! ⛳

We were lucky to be chosen as recipient of Charity Hole of the Day, where over 100 golfers had to donate funds to our research to gain an advantage and take part in a purpose-driven day on the green.

Thanks to Phil McCarroll from McCarroll Automotive and the team at Lexus of Chatswood for you organisation and support.

“The most devastating thing was learning the specifics of his timeline.”

When Spencer was four, his parents Harley and Tristram were told he would eventually lose the ability to walk, then breathe on his own – and that his life would be shortened.

When Ruby was diagnosed with cancer, she looked up at her mum Laurie and asked if it would be as bad as when she lost a tooth. Laurie remembers thinking, “Darling, this is going to be quite a ride for you.”

Now in remission, she’s using her voice to advocate for children who haven’t been as lucky.
