25 Years of Gidget Foundation Australia

Supporting the mental health of families, from pre-conception to early infancy.

Last night we heard from the Chair and CEO on the opening of 50 Gidget houses supporting new parents Saving lives ….
Over 100,000 families are affected every year. We still need more resources. The support in the room with over 850 guests proves that advocacy is loud and clear.

When I left teaching in 2005 after 21 years in education I wanted to volunteer for an organisation that involved children and where my values and vision aligned. That’s where Starlight Children’s Foundation entered my world.
Last night at the “ Voluncheers” for Starlight Australia evening I was acknowledged for the being the second longest serving volunteer.
For 18 years it’s been a privilege to give in a variety of ways from standing in Central Station on Starlight day to raise funds. Packing Surprise Spring Packs for 500 families . Wish granting to over 15 families organising bespoke experiences. And for the past decade serving on the NSW Board.
To all the other volunteers thank you for all you do in various aspects from helping at events and importantly your work in the hospitals and Starlight Express Roons.
