Today on National Skincare Education Day, we want to take a moment to thank our incredible partner for their generous support of Westmead Hospital Foundation.

A paw-sitively beautiful day across the hospital 🐾💙

Our therapy dogs had a lovely day visiting patients, families and staff across the hospital, bringing smiles, comfort and a little extra joy to those who needed it most.

We were especially delighted to spend time with Melinda and Ian, sharing some gentle cuddles and plenty of happy moments.

These visits are such a beautiful reminder of the healing power of connection, kindness and a wagging tail. 🐶✨

Yesterday, we had the most wonderful visit from baby Logan and his parents, Courtney and Josh. 💙

Logan spent 130 days in Westmead Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), receiving round-the-clock care to help him grow and develop outside the womb. When he was finally strong enough to go home, he left with the support of a feeding tube and the love and care of an incredible NICU team behind him.

The Freund family remain deeply grateful for the incomparable and meticulous care Logan received, which gave him the very best start to life.

To celebrate Logan’s first birthday, Courtney and Josh raised funds to support the ongoing work of the NICU — raising enough to purchase a Giraffe Blue Spot PT Lite Phototherapy System. This vital piece of equipment will help other babies like Logan receive life saving treatment.

Yesterday, the family returned to Westmead for a special morning tea to reunite with the staff who cared for them, celebrate Logan’s journey and see the equipment their generosity has made possible.

Thank you, Courtney, Josh and Logan, for giving back in such a meaningful way and helping ensure more families receive the same life-changing care. 💚

Reflecting on International Nurses Day, celebrated on the 12th of May, we are reminded of the incredible compassion, skill and dedication nurses bring to our hospitals every single day.

We were delighted to celebrate our nurses with special hampers delivered across the wards. It was a wonderful joint effort, made possible by our amazing sponsor , who generously built and packed the hampers, together with the support of the wonderful team , who volunteered their time to help us deliver them to nurses throughout the hospital.

To every nurse across Westmead, thank you for the care, kindness and strength you show each day. We are so grateful for everything you do for patients, families and our community.
