Established in 2011, The Welfare Fund Public Trust Fund supports a broad range of causes as part of The Welfare Fund’s Charitable Hearts Program.

Every year, donations are made to a number of organisations as part of our Annual General Meeting and decided upon by the Board of Directors. Most recently, donations were made to St John’s Ambulance Service, the Children’s Medical Research Institute and Guide Dogs NSW.

As a member of The Welfare Fund, a portion of your membership is tax deductible as a donation to the Welfare Fund Public Trust Fund, and you can choose to give further donations to either the Trust fund itself or directly to a charitable cause of your choosing, all tax deductible.

This year, as part of our ongoing efforts to support those in need, the Easter Raffle Fundraiser is being held to support both the Trust Fund and HelperMate.

As part of our ongoing commitment to helping the community, Fair Wealth acts as a host organisation to allow Community Work students the placement they need to complete their certifications.

Furthermore, we act as a host organisation under the ‘Work for the Dole’ program, giving placements to volunteers and allowing them the opportunity to gain vital skills and training to help them in securing paid work. In some instances, this has even resulted in volunteers returning to the organisation in a paid capacity, to provide ad hoc work across the business.

We remain committed to acting as a springboard into the job market for hundreds of Australians from all walks of life. In hosting volunteer placements, we endeavour to provide a safe and productive working environment to foster growth both professionally and personally.

Special thanks to Felix Lam for attending our
2025 Annual General Meeting on behalf of St
Johns Ambulance NSW. Established in 1883,
they were one of the only ambulance provider
in many parts of Australia for many years, and
continue to be a pillar of the community,
organising first aid training and emergency
services for events.
We are happy to support St Johns Ambulance
as they continue providing their services
throughout the community.

A big thank you to Jennifer Phillips from
Children’s Medical Research Institute
(CMRI) for joining us at our 2025 Annual
General Meeting. We were amazed to hear
about some of the amazing research they
have contributed towards gene therapy
treatments for infants suffering from genetic
blindness, and how they continue to work
towards finding solutions to this problem.
We hope to continue supporting CMRI in
their research of illnesses affecting the lives
of children in the years to come.

Thank you to Sophia Lacey and company
from Guide Dogs NSW for joining us at our
2025 Annual General Meeting. She explained
the time and training that goes into making
sure each Guide Dog is able to support those
who need them - even bringing along their
ambassador Fella, who was a perfect
example of the standards of the dogs they
train.
We hope our support aids them in their
mission to continue breeding and training
man’s greatest helpers.

Celebrating Eighty Year of Impact – The Welfare Fund’s Annual General Meeting

This week, The Welfare Fund held our Annual General Meeting — a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the impact we’ve made over the past 80 years and to look ahead to the work still to come.

As a not-for-profit organization, our mission continues to guide everything we do. We’re proud of the progress achieved through collaboration, dedication, and the shared commitment of our team, partners, and community.

A huge thank-you to everyone who contributed to making this year a success. Together, we’re creating meaningful change — and we’re just getting started.
