Deadly Mos is an opportunity to remind our men that staying connected to community, family, culture and Country can make a powerful impact on our social and emotional wellbeing.

Strong communities are built when our men feel supported, connected to culture and don't feel shame to reach out when they need help.

When you register you will get a free limited-edition Deadly Choices Movember shirt! There's also some prizes to be won for the deadliest mos!

The jarjums in our Early Learning Program and staff at Kalwun's Child, Youth and Family Services office in Burleigh had some fun dressing up and trick-or-treating last week for spooky season👻🎃

They had a fang-tastic time going around the office and collecting their spooky treats from staff with plenty of excitement and smiles 🍬🕸️

🌟NOVEMBER Wellness Centre Calendar is here! 🌟

We hope all the Elders and Seniors in our community enjoyed Seniors Month in October. Our Seniors Services team enjoyed connecting with our older people and making them feel special!

If you're new to the community or looking for support, join us this month at the Kalwun Senior Services Wellness Centre in Bonogin and the Upper Coomera Community Centre.

This November, we have plenty of incredible programs and activities for our Elders and Seniors to enjoy including:
🎨Arts and crafts
🍿 Movie day
🛍️ Shopping day
❤️ World Kindness Day
💙 International Men's Day
🚌Day trip to Beenleigh Historical Village and Museum

On Mondays and Wednesdays we have our Sharing Cultural Days for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers 🪃

On Thursdays we also offer visiting medical services, including a fitness trainer and an occupational therapist.

We're encouraging Kalwun male staff and men in our community to grow the deadliest moustache for Movember and be part of a friendly competition that shines a light on men's health and wellbeing.

Thinking about enrolling your child in Kalwun's Early Learning Program for 2027?

Families, parents and/or carers are invited to join our Early Learning Program (ELP) Information Session.

In this session you will learn about how our FREE school readiness program supports the development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged 3-5 years.

If you are interested or have any questions, come in for a yarn, meet the team and explore the ELP space at our Burleigh office.

Enrolment spots are limited for 2027.

Every year, too many Australians lose their lives to breast cancer.

We know that early detection saves lives, but for many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, barriers such as affordability, accessibility and culturally safe healthcare can make it harder to access screening services.

We know that these can be significant barriers for our community. That's why we've partnered with BreastScreen Queensland and Gold Coast Health to provide free and culturally safe breast screening services for mob.

While all of our October Breast Screening Days are now fully booked, we encourage anyone wanting to learn more about breast health and screening options to contact our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Outreach Officer, Letisha, on 0416 556 170.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths for Australian women.

Breast screenings and early detection are life saving, giving women the best chance of successful treatment and improved health outcomes.

If you haven't had a breast screening or you think you may be due for one, Kalwun has two free and accessible breast screening days coming up this week on the 28th and 29th of October!
