One year closer to gold. 🥇✨

Twelve months ago, Grow for Gold was just an idea with one simple goal: to remove barriers for talented Gold Coast athletes chasing Olympic and Paralympic dreams.

Last week, we had the privilege of bringing together the athletes, their families, partners, donors and supporters who have helped make that vision a reality.

In just one year, we’ve watched our athletes represent Australia, stand on international podiums, achieve personal bests and continue taking incredible steps towards Brisbane 2032.

To everyone who has backed this program from day one—thank you. Your support is helping create opportunities that extend far beyond the sporting arena.

6 years to go. 🏅💚💛

What a fantastic morning celebrating the countdown to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games at Trec for Rec with the City of Gold Coast, Gold Coast Recreation & Sport and Active & Healthy.

Our Grow for Gold athletes loved getting involved, catching up with Alexa Leary and Gail and Ben from the Gold Coast Rollers, while Paralympian Taymon Kenton-Smith showed our CEO danikagoodman_ how to hold a bow and shared the incredible skill behind para archery. Safe to say it gave us all a whole new appreciation for the precision the sport demands! 🎯

With just six years to go, we’re excited to continue supporting the next generation of Olympians and Paralympians on their journey to Brisbane 2032.

A fantastic afternoon in the Titans Palladium Club with our Sports Gold Coast members and guests, building new connections, catching up with old friends, and celebrating everything that makes our sporting community so special.

To top it all off, what a day for the Gold Coast Titans, with both the Women’s and Men’s teams securing fantastic wins! 🔥

What will Brisbane 2032 leave behind? 🤔

That was the question at the heart of the 2032 Legacy in Motion Summit, where Sports Gold Coast CEO Danika Goodman and Director Lisa Ketjen joined leaders from across sport, government and the community sector to explore how we can create a lasting legacy for women, girls, people with disability and future generations.

The biggest takeaway? Legacy isn’t something we wait for in 2032. It’s shaped by the decisions we make today, the partnerships we build and the opportunities we create.

As the Gold Coast prepares for one of the most exciting decades in Australian sport, Sports Gold Coast is proud to be part of the conversations helping shape a stronger, more inclusive future for our sporting community.

Celebrating 40 incredible years of Gold Coast Recreation & Sport. 🎉

A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of joining the Gold Coast Recreation & Sport community to reflect on four decades of impact, advocacy and leadership across our region.

As an organisation, Sports Gold Coast works closely alongside GCRS, and we continue to be inspired by their commitment to creating more active, inclusive and connected communities. Their work behind the scenes has helped shape countless opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate in sport and recreation.

Congratulations to everyone who has played a role in this remarkable journey. We look forward to continuing to work together and seeing the positive impact Gold Coast Recreation & Sport will create over the next 40 years.
