Members of Quota Gold Coast, led by President Marsha, recently attended the Appreciation Evening for donors and supporters of Arundel Park Riding for the Disabled Association.
The organisation provides ongoing support for participants, focusing on the achievement of personal goals through individual-centred experiences. During the evening, the President and staff of APRDA shared an overview of the valuable work undertaken at the Centre, along with future plans and a wish list for improvements to further enhance their programs and facilities.
Guests also heard from Ruby, who has been a student at APRDA for eight years. Beginning as a rider who was led around on horseback, Ruby has progressed to become a competent and confident rider who now canters independently during her sessions. Her goal is to one day represent Australia at the Paralympic Games.
As one of the largest Riding for the Disabled centres, APRDA also offers Carriage Driving Programs. All programs are designed to encourage personal growth, foster social interaction, and improve participants’ self-confidence and self-esteem.
