💬 A message from our friends at Geelong Sustainability and Geelong Renewables Not Gas

Submissions due by June 26, see below.

___________

There is another Gas Import Terminal Proposal in our backyard!

We had the Viva Energy Gas Import Terminal proposal in Corio Bay, and now Vopak wants to build an LNG import terminal in Port Phillip Bay.

An LNG import terminal would threaten to push gas bills even higher and expose us to future price shocks from the international gas market. And it risks locking in a polluting, dirty fuel for decades to come – right when we need to speed up the transition to renewable energy.

Our community showed up and rallied in opposition against Viva Energy's Gas Import Terminal proposal and weakened the viability of the project.

Vopak’s disastrous project is open for submission, and we need your support again!

Your voice matters: have your say.

🚫 No new gas. No new terminals. 🚫

Be heard - Every submission counts.

To make a submission on the proposed Vopak LNG import terminal:
1️⃣ Visit the Engage Victoria project page
2️⃣ Complete the online submission form
3️⃣ Share your concerns and feedback
4️⃣ Submit before 11:59pm, Friday 26 June 2026

Visit www.geelongrenewablesnotgas.org for more information.
