We are a community group of people living in the Surf Coast and Bellarine Peninsula areas of Victoria. We meet at the Sticks and Stones 10am on the first Saturday of the month and new members are always welcome. Our purpose is to improve peoples understanding and support for people who are seeking refuge or asylum. We request that all conversation on this be page be respectful of that purpose. Dis
respectful and hurtful comments will not be tolerated and may result in the writer being blocked. As of 2019 we have a membership of 70 friends and supporters. To get involved please contact us and come along to a meeting. We meet every Thursday for a peaceful vigil in Torquay supporting fairness and justice for all asylum seekers and refugees. SURF COAST RURAL AUSTRALIANS FOR REFUGEES (SCRAR):
- Arranges public meetings, addressed by speakers with first hand knowledge of refugee issues
- Offers friendship and support to asylum seekers and refugees living in Geelong.
- Initiates petitions and write letters to support refugees
- Challenges MPs on refugee issues
- Organises events to raise awareness
- collect food for Welcome Centre, Wesley Church, Geelong
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

Meetings are every first Saturday of the month except for January.
- Join us every Thursday for our vigil. We meet 5.30pm for 30 minutes cnr of Merrijig Drive and Surf Coast Hwy Torquay.
- Write a letter to our local MP, Libby Coker
- Buy delicious Kasundi available at Torquay Community House
- Donate myki cards and vouchers at Torquay Community House
- Donate clothing - Geelong Mums or St Andrews Anglican Church Corio
- Donate toys, bed linen, towels, crockery, cutlery, some furniture to St Andrew's Corio. To check criteria call 0419544882
