📣 Secretariat Support (Semi-honorary)

We are seeking an experienced person from the community to assist with secretariat functions on a semi-honorary contract basis.

This role will support the Board, a small number of committees, the State Advisory Council, and our AGM and General meetings.

This role would suit someone with company secretarial, governance, or administration experience who is semi-retired or has flexibility in their schedule.

The time commitment varies across the year and a majority of meetings will be held online. There will be approximately two to three face-to-face meetings per year.

A honorarium and travel expense reimbursement is offered in recognition of the contribution.

If you share our passion for the Landcare movement and have skills to offer, we would love to hear from you.

Share Your Landcare Experience, Shape the Future of Landcare 📣📝

With just a few weeks remaining, there's still time to take part in the Landcare Week 2026 Survey.

We're collecting stories and insights from people involved in Landcare across Australia to better understand the impact Landcare has on individuals, communities, and the environment.

💚 Whether you're a volunteer, member of a Landcare or community group, Traditional Owner or First Nations organisation, landholder, primary producer, educator, or supporter of Landcare, we'd love to hear from you.

Your responses will help inform national storytelling, advocacy, and future support for Landcare, while contributing to Landcare Week activities taking place from 3–9 August 2026.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and closes on Tuesday 30 June 2026.

We would love to congratulate Landcarer Graham (Jono) Johnston on receiving an OAM for his development of the Clean4Shore program, along with his long-standing community involvement with Surf Life Saving and The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Awards over the past 30 years.

Jono shared that the Governor, Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, was particularly interested in Clean4Shore's success engaging young people in removing litter from local waterways.

A Landcare member and not-for-profit, Clean4Shore is a small community group based at Macmasters Beach. The program runs field trips along the Hawkesbury River, Brisbane Water, and lagoons of Tuggerah Lakes, teaching groups (including schools) how to collect and remove rubbish along these waterways.

There is so much unseen work, organisation, and coordination behind programs like this, and it’s wonderful to see Jono’s passion and commitment to Landcare recognised at such a significant level.

Many congratulations to Jono, and thank you for everything you do.
