Mondays Walk & Talk with The Silver Salties 🌿

This week we set off from Bateau Bay Picnic Area, strolling along the stunning coastline all the way up to Crackneck Lookout. Along the way, we admired fennel flowers in full bloom, spotted some amazing Aussie wildlife, and even came across the rare Boyd plant in the wild! 🤣

We wrapped up our adventure with a well‑earned coffee at Bateau beach cafe ☕the perfect finish to a beautiful morning.

✨ The Silver Salties is open to everyone, all ages, and all fitness levels. Come join us every Monday for a walk, a chat, and a coffee. We’d love to see you! 💙

The Silver Salties helped to light up the lake on Saturday night at The Entrance!

We were proud to be part of the Light up the Lake festival alongside Surf Life Saving Central Coast & our team at North Entrance Surf Club & our wonderful North Entrance Nippers Rookies sharing surf safety tips, and challenging passers-by with “Can spot a rip?”
It was a fantastic night of community connection, and we loved chatting with the lovely Louise from the Silver Salties at Ocean Beach SLSC about all things Silver Salties.

💙🩶 A huge shoutout to our amazing Silver Salties for rallying behind young rookie Sophie at the launch of her monthly ‘How Many Can You Do?’ Breakfast! From baking homemade goodies to serving up bowls of Weet-Bix with a smile, they helped fuel our members and build beautiful intergenerational connections across the club

Sophie’s initiative raised over $500 towards the Rookie program , a fantastic effort!

It’s not too late to be part of the fun! Whether you’re keen to get social, make new friends, or support local youth, we’d love to welcome you into our club 💙🩶

👟 Our first Silver Salties Walk & Talk kicked off today, and what a beautiful start it was!

We set off from North Entrance SLSC, strolled across the bridge and looped around The Entrance, soaking up the fresh air and good company. A well-earned coffee break gave us time to chat, laugh, and get to know each other better

We may be a small crew for now, but we’re big on heart 💙
New faces are always welcome! If you’re keen to get social, stay active, and enjoy the stunning coastline with friendly locals, come join us next time.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support of our local member David Mehan MP for the Silver Salties program here at North Entrance SLSC.
David’s ongoing commitment to community clubs and initiatives never goes unnoticed, his support means so much.

We’d love to see you next Monday, 13th October at 6:30pm up at North Entrance Surf Club for our information night. Come along to learn more about this exciting new program and how you can get involved!

Great to catch up with Phill, Vanessa, Sophie and Lachie today to chat about all the fantastic things North Entrance SLSC are doing for both the young and the young-at-heart in our community.

Phill is leading the Silver Salties program, helping local seniors stay fit, social and connected through their surf club.

Sophie, one of the club’s rookies, is part of the amazing team that won the 2025 NSW Surf Life Saving Awards of Excellence – Community Education Award for their ‘Don’t be a Pelican’ project, which raises awareness about hazardous beach conditions and the dangers of swimming in The Entrance Channel. She’s now turning her energy toward a new project all about healthy breakfasts for nippers.
