Look at these two beautiful humans at Messy Play this morning, proudly sporting their fabulous blue volunteer shirts.

Sharon and Carina are part of our incredible volunteer team at South Eastern Community Connect, and this morning they were busy preparing a delicious, healthy snack for all the children attending Messy Play at The Hub in Mascot.

There’s something pretty special about starting the day surrounded by big smiles, messy play and volunteers who give their time to make our community a little brighter.

We had Circle Time at Kensington Playgroup yesterday.

Over 20 little ones and their parents packed onto the mat. They sang, listened and played together.

There were nursery rhymes. A few very serious toddler dance moves. And plenty of proud parents watching from the side. 💛

While digging through the mulch at Messy Play, our little ones uncovered a whole colony of earthworms. Cue squeals, wide eyes and a dozen questions.

Messy play like this builds fine motor skills and gets kids comfortable with textures most adults avoid. Dirt under the fingernails is part of the job.

Monday was a shoes-off kind of day.

Our seniors' bus trip took in Mosman, Balmoral Beach and Harbord Diggers, with sunshine, salt air and sand between the toes.

The crew swapped stories, wandered the pier and settled in for lunch at the Diggers before the trip home.

Two amazing community members, Siva and Sally, donated to the Hub this week, each dropping off a full haul of groceries.

Between them, we received Weet-Bix, Milo, Nutri-Grain, Uncle Tobys oats, Arnott's biscuits, belVita, peanut butter, jam, and much more. Every item goes onto our shelves for families who visit the Hub for support.

Donations like this keep our pantry running week to week. If you'd like to donate, drop into the Hub during opening hours or send us a message and we'll let you know what's needed most right now.

Calling all parents, carers and grandparents of 3–6 year olds in the City of Sydney, Bayside, Randwick, Woollahra or Waverley LGAs.

Cool Little Kids is a 5-week program developed by the Centre for Emotional Health at Macquarie University. It normally costs $170. Through SECC, it's free.

You'll learn how to help your child face their fears, build independence and grow their confidence, step by step.

Bridget, our coordinator at The Cottage, sat down at the old upright piano to entertain us recently.

She played 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You.'

Clients gathered round. A few sang along, word for word.

Music does that at SECC. It reaches people when conversation doesn't.
