🌋 As we know volcanoes produce methane through their clouds and explosions.. but did you know that scientists recently discovered that part of these eruptions have the ability to destroy methane molecules in the air?

In 2022, scientists followed a large eruption from Hunga Tonga - Hunga Ha'apai and discovered the presece of formaldehyde in the atmosphere, a chemical compound formed from the oxidation of methane which removes that particle from the atmosphere.

Scientists are now looking to utilise this new information for future projects that may support the slowing of global warming quicker.

♻️Victoria is recycling 25% less containers than some of its sister states. Partly this could be due to the unaccessibility and structure of the recycling scheme available.

Boomerang Alliance has asked HOPE Inc to share with you their pitch for a better recycling scheme, not just in Victoria but across the nation.

• 10c to 20c per container.
• Wine and spirit bottles become part of the scheme.
• Expand the convenience of refund points to have suitable accessibility for everyone.

This fantastic fund is part of the PYL Alliance that we, HOPE Inc, are also a part of. Established in 1969 for the whitecoat seals, the group has advanced into conservation for all species due to their unique ecosystem services but also because they hold their own rights as living species on our Earth.

🐝World Bee day has already come and gone as of last week! Sorry we are late to the party!🐝

BUT did you know there is forever progressing bees and pollinators conservation that is challenging how to incorporate these amazing creatures into our everyday lives? They are providing livelihoods to locals across the globe and supporting the development of sustainable urban and agricultural production.

There is so much our little bees do for us, we should honestly celebrate them everyday!

Did you know that carpooling can save you money and support a 'going green' movement?

Carpooling can be easily done through co-ordination with others, whether its with colleagues or through apps used in your local area.

Reducing vehicles on the road supports a:
•Reduction in your carbon footprint
•Decrease in air pollution and..
•The conservation of fossil fuels through minimal use.

And all this contributes to global efforts to mitigate the active rate of climate change.

It also decreases the number of single-occupancy vehicles on the road, allowing for smoother flow of traffic in peak hours and less demand for road expansions, allowing for materials to be used elsewhere whether for climate projects or more unrelated tasks.

🌊❗️❗️OCEAN CIRCULATION IS CRITICAL TO OUR SURVIVAL❗️❗️🌊

Stephen Prager has let us know about a recent study indicating the decline of a vital current system that supports a vast area of land, ocean and people in its existence.

Without the system, we would face increases in severe nature of tropical storms in the North Atlantic, but also temperatures projected to plummet in northern Europe with Norway possibly reaching -48°C.

How can you support prevention of this climate change act?
• Support organisations like
• Reconsider choices that may be unsustainable and potentially contributing to climate change.
• Incite action in global, business and political leaders for change.

🐦🐧🐦‍⬛ BIRDS!!!🦉🦆🪿

Birds are a major part of all of our ecosystems, whether that's national here within Australia or internationally across the globe with our migratory species. They provide the basis of support for plant transporation and are a big part of the food web.

Have you ever wanted to know more about them? Understand their habits? Join an event with a whole bunch of other people where you count and survey birds to analyse their condition? Not only is learning about birds great fun, but there is plenty of opportunity to gain great skills and experiences out of participating in their conservation.

Here we have BirdLife Australia, an organisation who has fought for more than 120+ against the issues plaguing our bird species in Australia, and now they are facing their biggest challenge: the extinction crisis!
