Thank you to our community for attending the Peace Vigil this morning.
We all have the potential to inspire peace and harmony through our actions and words.
We are continuing the tradition of the First Nations people who regularly gathered in the Bunyas and nurtured the land we live on today. May we never forget the traditional ways of connection and sharing.

We received a special invitation to meet Mr. Shannon Bauwens, Traditional custodian, at Gummingurru, an ancient ceremonial site used for male initiation for Aboriginal tribes from all over the country documented to be active for at least 65,000 years, the world's oldest continuous culture. The site contains stone arrangements from Aboriginal Dreaming Stories in the form of a huge Emu, turtle and "Rainbow Snake" upon basalt rock soil dating at least 4000 years old. Toowoomba, celebrating as an International City of Peace, honors the Aboriginal community, who maintained and worked on peace for thousands of years.

Thanks to Mr Steve Cooper (Manager of Cobb & Co), for sharing the rich history of Toowoomba and how the our Indigenous Song lines meet with modern day travel. Humans share the same wisdom.
Our delegates had a deeper understanding of our region.
Cobb & Co is another organisation supporting peace in our region.
Exciting things to come… 🤗

What a week! We had International delegates from Malaysia, Singapore , Brunei, Germany and USA visit Toowoomba to experience our community. It started with a camp fire 🔥 and our traditional sausage sizzle. The best way to bond.
It was wonderful to hear the experience of our Chief guest Mr Fred Arment from International Cities of Peace talk about his journey in the scouts and the values instilled in 4 generations of his family.
Such a warm welcome and interaction with insightful young scouts!
