YellowBridge QLD was formerly ASSERT Services Inc. We began in Toowoomba Queensland in 1978, as a self-help group formed to support and encourage people with a disability (and their carers) to become part of their community. Today, YellowBridge QLD is a leading provider of support services to the socially disadvantaged. We are a not-for-profit, registered charity and incorporated association delivering a suite of disability support, home and community care, and community housing services. YellowBridge QLD is also a Registered Training Organisation. We operate within the demography of the Toowoomba Regional Council, Northern Downs, Southern Downs, and Lockyer Valley Regional Council, and is funded by joint Federal and State Government initiatives including the Federal Department of Human Services, the Queensland Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services, the Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works, and the Queensland Department of Health. YellowBridge QLD focusses on delivering high quality services that promote independence, safety and security, social inclusion and education for its service recipients, and upholds best practice in governance, day-to-day operations and service delivery.
