Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD), a time for communities to unite in standing against the abuse, neglect, and mistreatment of older people. By raising awareness and starting conversations, we can help prevent harm and support people to seek assistance sooner.

Looking to get involved? There are many events happening across the state, but a simple way to be involved and raise awareness is by wearing purple.

This week is Infant Mental Health Awareness Week (IMHAW), an annual opportunity to highlight the importance of supporting babies’ wellbeing and mental health. This year’s theme, Attunement, focuses on how strong, responsive early relationships help nurture healthy development. Attunement is the ability to tune in to and connect with others on an emotional level.

At Breakaway, we recognise that mental health and wellbeing are important for everyone. We understand the impact of mental health on individuals and value the vital role that positive, supportive relationships play in overall well-being.
