New members Email; [email protected] Have you ever grown a plant or hiked in the bush? These are all things you can learn when you are a Joey Scout! Joey Scouts are boys and girls aged six and seven who like having fun and making friends! When you join

Joeys you’ll be part of a Mob. You’ll play games, read stories, sing songs and do craft activities. You’ll find out about nature and learn about native birds and animals. You might fly a kite, go bushwalking, go to the beach, or visit a fire station, zoo or farm. The Joey Scout motto is HOP – Help Other People! You’ll learn to jump in and HOP, and to share with your friends. You’ll also learn heaps of useful stuff, like what to do in an emergency. When you join in different activities and learn new things, you and your mates in the Mob can earn special badges to sew on to your Joey Scout shirts. (8 to 10 YRS)

Have you been a Joey Scout, or are you new to Scouting? Either way, you can join Cub Scouts for excitement, independence, and some SERIOUS FUN! There are SO MANY THINGS a Cub Scout can do. Try exciting outdoor adventures like rock climbing, abseiling, camping, bushwalking, sailing, gliding and flying, canoeing, and billy-karting! Learn traditional Scouting skills like tying knots and using a map and compass! Play games and make friends! Learn to 'do your best' at whatever you try and help others to ‘do their best’ too! Visit exciting places! Help with community events or environment projects! You will also learn heaps of useful things that will help you when you move up to the older Scouting Sections, as well as throughout your entire life. All Cub Scouts are good at and enjoy different things, but everyone gets to have a go at all the activities and you can earn heaps of cool badges to sew on your Cub Scout uniform. (11 - 14 YRS)

Scouts do anything and everything... all the fun stuff you don’t get to do at home! Whether it’s hiking 30km over two days, canoeing, rock climbing, performing on stage in a Gang Show or sitting around a fire toasting marshmallows with a bunch of friends... you choose! You'll become a member of a Scout Patrol within a larger Scout Troop. Together you’ll make important decisions, set goals, and work together as a team to succeed in whatever you choose to do. Your Scout Leaders are there to support your decisions and help you develop spiritually, physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally. They'll teach you heaps of practical skills like how to build rope bridges and flying foxes, how to do basic first aid, and how to light a fire with nothing but two sticks... (maybe)! There is a multi-level Award Scheme to keep you constantly pushing yourself to achieve your personal best. You can learn about lightweight camping, bush navigation, recognising and dealing with environmental dangers (like bushfires), water safety and heaps more… and yes, you'll learn how to tie some pretty useful knots! Scouts also gain a lot of valuable life skills such as confidence, resilience, leadership and responsibility. Scouts have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world at Australian Jamborees or even international Jamborees! You’ll make lasting friendships and create memories that will stay with you for your entire lifetime. When you’re a Scout, there’s always something new and different to try. Get out there and extend yourself, test your limits and Be Prepared... for new adventure!
