🏕️ Darling Downs Scout Standards Camp 2026 🏕️

What an incredible weekend!

This weekend, Scouts from across the Darling Downs Region came together for the Scout Standards Camp 2026, with members attending from Drayton, Highfields, Oakey, 2nd Toowoomba, Pittsworth, and Withcott.

The six groups formed six patrols for the weekend, with five patrols competing and one patrol participating.

A huge congratulations goes to every Scout who attended. Throughout the weekend, all six patrols rose to the challenge and demonstrated outstanding teamwork, leadership, camping skills, and determination.

Over the course of the camp, patrols:
🍳 Cooked and served a three-course meal to our judging panel (and we're pleased to report that nobody died! 😆)
🏕️ Constructed their own campsite complete with:
• A gateway
• A Queensland pitch
• A dining fly
• Two tables
• Six camp gadgets
• A fire pit

The standard of camping and Scouting skills displayed throughout the weekend was fantastic, and the judges had some very difficult decisions to make.

Congratulations to all patrols and leaders who participated. The effort, enthusiasm, and Scout spirit shown throughout the weekend made the camp a great success.

🎬🍿 Venturer Scout Standards Camp 2025 — Lights, Camera, Action! 🍿🎬

This weekend our Venturers brought the big screen to the campsite as they took on the Movies & TV theme at this year's Standards Camp!
From creative campsites to campfire performances, the Venturers went all out to impress the judges across some seriously competitive categories:
🚽 Best Dunny — Because even your camp toilet needs to be on-theme (and fully functional, just in case!)
🎭 Best Campfire Skit — Lights down, campfire up — our Venturers took centre stage with their movie and TV-inspired performances
🏆 The Try Hard Award — For the team that gave it absolutely everything and deserves a standing ovation for effort alone
🚩 Parade Award — Recognising the team that nailed the art of opening and closing a parade the proper way
🌟 Overall Trophy — The big one. The cream of the crop. The blockbuster of the weekend.

An incredible effort from all our Venturers — the creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm on display was truly award-worthy. 🎥⭐

Dear Venturers, Rovers, Leaders and Adult Members,

You are warmly invited to attend a special celebration marking 80 years of Venturer Scouts in Australia.

This milestone is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the rich history, achievements, and impact of the Venturer Scout section, as well as celebrate the people who have helped shape it over the years.

The celebration will be held following the closing ceremony of the Darling Downs Venturer Standards Camp. We encourage all Venturer Units—whether attending the camp or not—as well as Region and District Leaders, to join us for this memorable occasion.

There will be time to come together, reflect on the journey of Venturing, and celebrate this significant anniversary as a wider scouting community.

✨🎄 Just visited the Scout Region Christmas Lights! 🎄✨

Honestly… WOW. The Scouts have absolutely outdone themselves this year! The displays were magical, the atmosphere was super festive, and the kids (and adults 😄) loved every minute of it.
