🚨 **VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – TOOWOOMBA MONSTER TRUCK EVENT!** 🚛💥

Darling Downs Region are looking for volunteers to help out at the **Toowoomba Monster Truck Event on Saturday 7th November!**

We need a hand with two jobs:
🚗 **Car Parking:** 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm
🧹 **Clean-Up:** The main gate to the grandstands and the grandstands after the event.

🎟️ **BONUS – FREE ENTRY INTO THE EVENT!** 🎟️

🦺 Hi-vis vests will be supplied, but please remember to dress sunsafe, wear a hat and bring sunscreen! ☀️

It's a great opportunity to enjoy an awesome event while helping support our Community! 💚💛

🌸 A huge shout out and thank you to everyone who attended and marched in the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers today! 🌸

We had just under 80 Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers, Leaders, Adult Helpers and Parents in attendance, proudly representing Darling Downs Scouts.

And you all definitely represented us with pride, enthusiasm and plenty of Scout spirit! 💜💛⚜️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make today such a fantastic event. It was wonderful to see so many of our Scouting family coming together and showing the community what Darling Downs Scouts is all about.

We hope to see you all back again next year — and fingers crossed, we’ll have a float again! 👀🌸

We’ve already started brainstorming ideas, so big things are in the works for the 78th Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers! 🌺🎉

Watch this space… you never know what we might come up with! 😉

Hey everyone! 🌸

**Carnival of Flowers is THIS Saturday!** 🌼

A few important reminders and details for everyone participating in the parade:

📍 **Meeting Location**

I have attached a map showing the parade lineup and our starting position. We are **A25**, so our meeting spot will be on the corner of **Herries and Phillip Streets**. There will be people at this spot from 9:00am - drop off is anytime between 9:00am and 9:45am.

I have also attached a map showing the road closures. With the parade floats and other activities, many streets will be closed, so please keep this in mind when planning your travel and allow extra time to get to our meeting spot.

👕 **What to Wear**

* **Scouts:** Please wear your Scout uniform, including your scarf and woggle, along with comfortable pants and shoes. Don't forget your hat!
* **Non-Scout members:** Parents, caregivers and siblings who are joining us are encouraged to wear floral attire. 🌺

🌸 **Flowers Are a Must!**

As this is the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, **all marchers and float participants are required to wear flowers!** So make sure you add a little floral flair to your outfit.

💧 **Stay Hydrated**

The weather is expected to be hot, so please remember to bring a water bottle and keep hydrated throughout the parade.

We look forward to seeing everyone there and representing Darling Downs Scouts at this wonderful community event!

All Venturers and Venturer Leaders you are invited to attend the Darling Downs Region Venturer Standards Camp.

Camp Details
When: Friday 21st May to Sunday 23rd May 2027
Where: Wirraglen Campsite - Scout Ridge

Times:
• Gate opens from 5:00pm on Friday
• Camp concludes and all participants to be gone by 12:00 noon on Sunday

Theme – Through the Decades
Your theme should be something your unit size can handle and will play to the strengths of your unit. The theme will need to be accepted for a scouting activity and should be respectful of all beliefs and in the guidelines of the scouting movement.

Each Venturer Unit will get to choose which decade they would like to represent.

The idea is to give the Venturers some ownership over the camp and allow them to choose a decade that interests them. They can then help shape the activities, costumes, music, food and other elements of the camp around their chosen decade.

Some of the things groups could incorporate include:
-Clothing and costumes from their decade
-Music and popular culture
-Games and activities
-Food and cooking

Cost:
Youth - $20 per person
Leaders - $15 per person

This cost covers the camp fees, camp badges and any resources needed.
Groups will be invoiced directly by Darling Downs Region after the event.

The Darling Downs Revue is moving to our NEW HOME — but first, we need to completely empty the current building!

We need as many people as possible to help us get the building completely empty and everything safely moved into our new home.
Even if you can only spare an hour, your help will make a HUGE difference!
👟 Wear comfortable clothes and closed-in shoes and bring your moving muscles!
