💙 43 YEARS OF DEDICATION. NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR THE 2026/27 SEASON. 💛

For 43 years, Keith has been one of the people quietly working behind the scenes to make Caloundra Little Athletics possible.

Now, after an incredible 43 years of service, he's hanging up his hat, and we're looking for our next Equipment & Set Up Officer.

This role helps ensure:
✅ Equipment is maintained and competition-ready
✅ Equipment inventory is managed throughout the season
✅ Friday night competition is set up and ready for athletes
✅ Carnivals and special events run smoothly

The reality is that our athletes can't compete without the volunteers who work behind the scenes.

Every hurdle, high jump mat, finish line and event area starts with someone willing to lend a hand.

This isn't just about helping the club, it's about helping your children and every athlete who takes to the field each week.

Open to U7–U17 athletes, the Carnival welcomes both LAQ and non-LAQ participants, making it a great opportunity for athletes to compete, have fun, and experience a major event in Townsville on 27th & 28th June.

Our athletics community has such a rich and special history, and this documentary is a beautiful reminder of how it all began 💙💛

From the early days of Maroochy Little Athletics through to the beginnings of Caloundra Little Athletics, this story highlights the passion, commitment and community spirit that helped shape little athletics in our region into what it is today.

A very special mention goes to the incredible Alison Quirke, whose selfless dedication and tireless work over so many years has impacted generations of athletes and families. People like Alison are the reason clubs like ours exist today, and this documentary is a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate that contribution.

We encourage all of our families, past and present, to take the time to watch this special piece of history and appreciate the countless volunteers who helped build the foundations of little athletics on the Sunshine Coast.

As National Volunteer Week comes to a close, we thought there was no better time to officially announce our Executive Committee and Committee Members for the upcoming 2026/27 season 💙💛

Caloundra Little Athletics is so much more than just running, jumping and throwing.

It’s friendships formed on Friday nights, nervous athletes finding confidence, families cheering from the sidelines, volunteers lending a hand and children creating memories they’ll carry long after their little athletics days are over.

But none of this happens on its own.

Our club only exists because people within our community choose to step up — not only for their own children, but for every child who walks through our gates each week.

We are incredibly grateful to have the following continuing in their roles:

Kia - Chief Recorder
Kim - Uniform Officer
Naomi - Canteen Coordinator

We also warmly welcome Bec as our new Team Manager. We are so excited to have Bec join our team and know our athletes and families will be in wonderful hands.

As we start to prepare for our upcoming season, we still have some important roles needing to be filled:

⭐ Photographer - Perfect for someone who loves capturing the true spirit, friendships, determination and joy that makes CLAC so special.

The reality is, without volunteers, clubs like ours simply cannot run.

We don’t expect people to know everything.

We simply need people willing to be part of something bigger - to help create a place where children feel supported, encouraged and proud to belong.

Some of the best friendships, laughs and memories are made standing trackside together on a Friday night, working side by side as a community.

What an incredible achievement from Caloundra Little Athletics athlete Ryan, who recently competed at the Oceania Games in Darwin!

Ryan had an outstanding championship, achieving:
🥇 1st Place in Javelin with a huge PB throw of 51.82m
4th Place in Discus — narrowly missing bronze by just 1cm!
6th Place in Shot Put

And to top off an unforgettable trip… he even managed to catch a barra in the NT! 🎣

Ryan and his family highly recommend this championship experience, describing it as having an amazing atmosphere, supportive environment and an all-round great vibe for athletes and families alike.

Congratulations on representing so well and achieving such incredible results! 💙💛

💙💛 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK 💛💙

Did you know it takes almost 70 volunteers to help make just ONE Friday night of athletics run smoothly? 😮

Every Friday night is powered by an incredible team of volunteers working together to create a safe, fun and supportive environment for our athletes to compete, grow and thrive.

From setting up equipment, cooking BBQs, running events, recording results, helping in the canteen, answering questions, organising athletes and keeping the night flowing — it truly takes a village.

And that’s just on the night itself.

What many don’t see are the countless hours before and after competition nights — answering emails, preparing programs, entering carnivals, organising uniforms, handling registrations, fundraising, updating social media, recording results and making sure the club continues to run week after week.

Little Athletics is so much more than sport.
It’s community.
It’s connection.
It’s families helping families.
It’s people volunteering not only for their own child, but for EVERY child.

To every volunteer, committee member, official, helper, parent, grandparent and supporter who showed up and volunteered, THANK YOU!! 💙💛

Without volunteers, there is no Little Athletics.
And without our athletics family, there is no Caloundra Little Athletics.

Ground Improvements at Caloundra Little Athletics

Big things are happening behind the scenes… and this one is a game changer!

We’ve recently upgraded our long jump area, with new concreting laid between our two run-ups – creating a safer, cleaner and more professional space for our athletes to train and compete.

A huge thank you to the Sunshine Coast Council and their Major Grants Program for supporting local sporting clubs like ours. Opportunities like this allow us to continue improving our facilities and providing the best possible experience for our athletes and families 💙💛

We can’t wait to see it in action this season!
