Exciting updates to the program for our World Environment Day Festival this Saturday 16 August happening from 12noon to 3pm Marina Bar Noosa along the Tewantin riverfront.
This year, SCEC’s dedicated program aligns with the United Nations Environment Programme’s campaign of ‘Ending Plastic Pollution’ calling for meaningful action to address the pressing issue of plastic pollution and its harmful effects on the environment, human health, and the climate.
WEDFest 2025 will be opened by Cr Amelia Lorentson , Noosa Council; feature presentations from Simona Paganetto, I'm Plastic Free Jennifer Sharpe, Plastic Free Noosa and Alison Foley, Ten Little Pieces; music by Roanna Law and Jeremiah Montgomery; and documentaries on ‘Plastic Unwrapped’ and ‘Who is Polluting the Ocean’. Carin van Grunsven of Ploys Design will be offering upcycled products to inspire collective commitment for improved waste management and policies to sign a global treaty for tackling plastic pollution.
WEDFest is always a milestone in SCEC’s annual calendar. This year promises an engaging program of collaboration for a ‘Plastic Free Celebration’. A gold coin donation would be appreciated upon entry with tickets for raffle prizes.
