We’re determined to break the cycle of violence and disadvantage in our community.

For over 20 years, SunnyKids has been dedicated to early intervention, crisis support, and intensive family assistance on the Sunshine Coast through our innovative and evidence-based SunnyKids Village practice model. Our empowerment approach focuses on building resilience and skills in our clients, fostering accountability, and working at a pace that strengthens families over time. We are committe

d to tackling the growing challenges of youth disengagement from school and family, as well as the rise in adolescents entering the statutory Child Protection and Youth Justice Systems. Through our evidence-based model, we have found that the root causes of these issues often lie within the family and community dynamics, and frequently, it’s other family members who also require support. By working with the entire family, and using our five practice lenses, we are able to uncover and address the deeper, often hidden, issues that affect the adolescent, creating lasting change for all involved.

A bus full of hope is coming to the Sunshine Coast.

SunnyKids is proud to launch our new Take a Seat on the SunnyKids Bus campaign, helping bring vital mentoring, wellbeing and school-based programs directly to children and families who need them most.

Thanks to the generosity of a major supporter, every donation made throughout June will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $30,000, helping us raise a total of $60,000 to get the SunnyKids Bus on the road.

This isn't just a bus. It's a safe space on wheels. A place of connection, support and opportunity for vulnerable children across our community.

This week, from 27 May to 3 June, SunnyKids joins communities across the country in recognising National Reconciliation Week - a time to reflect, learn, and continue taking meaningful steps toward reconciliation.

The 2026 theme, “ALL IN”, is a call for all Australians to work together in building respectful relationships, deepening understanding, and creating lasting change. It reminds us that reconciliation requires all of us - in our workplaces, communities, and everyday actions.

At SunnyKids, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live and work, and we pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We remain committed to listening, learning, and supporting a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families feel safe, supported and empowered.
