CICADA Queensland is hosting a Living With Hearing Loss Event
in Cairns on June 7.

This FREE event is for anyone impacted by profound hearing loss. Whether you are living with hearing loss yourself, a partner, spouse, family member, or a medical professional supporting those affected, you are warmly invited.

John & Donna Ross are passionate advocates in the hearing loss space, speaking regularly across Australia.

John, President of CICADA Queensland, is an implant recipient and industry professional, while Donna brings the invaluable perspective of a partner navigating this journey alongside him.

🚨 URGENT SECURITY ALERT: PRESIDENT IMPERSONATION SCAM 🚨

We have been notified that someone is sending fraudulent text messages to people in our community falsely claiming to be from our President, John Ross.
The scammer is texting from the following mobile number:
📱 0450 493 660

The scammer is using John’s name and to try and trick people into replying, clicking links, or giving up information.
Please protect yourself by checking these facts:
🛑 It is NOT John: John Ross (and the CICADA QLD committee) will never text you from an unknown, unverified mobile number to ask for personal, financial, or sensitive information.
🛑 Do not click links: If you receive a text message out of the blue from someone claiming to be John Ross, do not click any links or open any attachments.
📞 Verify directly: If you are unsure if a message is genuinely from John or the organisation, do not reply to the text. Instead, email us directly at [email protected] or [email protected] reach out through your established local meetup coordinator to double-check.
