Strathalbyn parkrun

Strathalbyn parkrun Strathalbyn parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run / walk put on by the community for the community at 8am every Saturday in Strathalbyn, South Australia.

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Strathalbyn parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful river path and get physically active in the process

. We want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once! Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there!

🦺 VOLUNTEER NEWSFLASH: CAN YOU HELP THIS SATURDAY? 🦺
Hello Strathalbyn parkrun community! 🌳✨
We are gearing up for another beautiful Saturday morning down at Rotary Park, but our hi-vis team is currently missing an essential piece of the puzzle.
We are looking for 1 x Barcode Scanner to join the finish crew this week! 📱✨

Why do it?

* It’s incredibly easy: No specialized hardware needed! You just use the official parkrun Virtual Volunteer app on your smartphone.
* Full training provided: If you haven’t done it before, don't sweat it. We will show you exactly what to do before the 8:00 AM brief.
* Get a volunteer credit: Walk, talk, cheer on your fellow parkrunners, and edge closer to your next milestone t-shirt!
If you can step into the hi-vis vest this weekend, please drop a comment below with your name and parkrun ID number (the one starting with 'A'), or shoot us a msg.

In advance: If you know in advance that you would like to volunteer (either the next weekend or a future date) please email [email protected] and we will be in touch – we’d love to hear from you! Please include your full name and, if you know it, your parkrun ID found on your barcode.

What a beautiful morning at parkrun! 🌿 We had a fantastic turnout, with 58 finishers enjoying a slightly misty and foggy start, with the river flowing nicely. 🌫️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

🎉 A huge congratulations to Scott Beaumont on completing his 100th parkrun! 68 of those completed locally at Strath! What an amazing milestone! 👏🥳

🏆 5 PBs were recorded too! Well done to everyone who achieved a new personal best! 🎊👏
