Strathalbyn State Emergency Service wish to convey our thanks to the members of our community that have donated cars for road crash rescue training 🧡

We have so far used this red car for 3 different training nights to practice valuable lifesaving road crash rescue skills. It has also given us a great opportunity to train our upcoming generation of new road crash rescue operators!⛑️🚘

Tonight crews practiced inverted dashlift techniques to create space and free a casualties trapped feet/ legs on a car that was kindly donated.😫🦵🚕

Vehicle donations are always welcome 🚗🚕. If you have a vehicle that you wish to donate to SES we would love to hear from you!

Thank you for your continued support 🧡

Crews from Strathalbyn State Emergency Service, Strathalbyn SA Ambulance Service and SteamRanger Heritage Railways collaborated in a search and rescue training scenario where a missing person was found with a serious trauma injury from a chainsaw mishap 🌳🤕🚂🚑⛑️

The SES drone supported SES landsearch crews to locate the casualty🆘️

SA Ambulance crew provided medical care to stablise the bleed and wound, ensuring the chainsaw bar remained in place during transport 🩺🩸🦵🚑

Steam Ranger volunteers supported the incident with Train Control making sure the railway lines were safe (no trains!) and helped transport gear and personnel to the scene in their Track Maintenance Cars🚂🛂

SES crews supported SA Ambulance to remove the chainsaws heavy engine and then transported the casualty to the ambulance using the SES UTV🌳🏋‍♂️🆘️⛑️🚑

Simulation training such as this provides emergency crews with great opportunities to sharpen teamwork and incident management skills, ready to apply it when it matters most.

Special thanks to all those involved in organising the night!🧡

A drone assisted search was undertaken by SES rescue crews after the Scouts plane crashed in Strathalbyn🛩💥🆘️. All casualties we swiftly located and rescued⛑️.

This simulated plane crash put Scouts skills to the test and provided them an opportunity to work with emergency services🚒.

Local scouts were joined by their counterparts from Blackwood, Belair and Mount Barker to simulate a rescue from a plane crash recently.
