Witmore’s Bathurst 1000 Getaway!

What an unforgettable weekend away! Our participants had an amazing time at the Bathurst 1000, soaking up all the action, excitement and incredible racing 🏁

A huge thank you to our amazing support workers for making this trip so special and creating memories our participants will cherish.

A special thank you to Justin McClintock from Penrite Racing for showing our guys around and looking after them on Saturday. They had the incredible opportunity to enjoy a pit walk and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Penrite shed! 🙌

It’s moments like these that remind us just how lucky we are to have such an amazing community supporting us. 💜

Could this be you?

Meet the Witmore Board, a group of locals who volunteer their time to help guide Witmore and the people we support. We're now looking for new faces to join them.

Over the past year, Witmore has grown fast. We've launched new social enterprises, welcomed more participants, and grown our local workforce. Now we need more great people around the table to help shape what comes next.

We'd especially love to hear from people with:

✅ Finance or accounting experience
✅ Knowledge of the NDIS or disability services
✅ Marketing, communications or digital skills
✅ HR or workplace experience
✅ Lived experience of disability, as a person with a disability, family member or carer

No board experience needed, just a passion for inclusion and our community. It's one meeting a month.

Directors will be elected at our Annual General Meeting on Thursday 19 November. Nominations close Thursday 5 November.

Hey Connor.

You know how you used to have support to get out into your community, see your friends, and live a pretty ordinary life? Well, here is a cheerful infographic to let you know that as of today, you have half of that left. But you are still smiling in the picture, so you must be fine.

Today, 1st of October 2026, the NDIS starts halving funding for social and community participation supports as it reassesses plans. The NDIS has shared an easy read to explain it. In the example, Connor's group activities funding drops from $27,000 to $13,500.

Connor is a cartoon. The people this affects are not. For many people with disability, this funding is what gets them out of the house, to work, to their friends and to the everyday things the rest of us take for granted. It is also often how someone notices when things aren't okay.

Dan Repacholi MP this is a federal decision, and people with disability across the Hunter need you to speak up for them.

Dave Layzell, the people affected live in your electorate too and their voices need to be heard at every level.

Our Regional Explorers recently had the BEST time at the Singleton Show! From enjoying the rides and having a go on the dodgem cars to exploring everything the Show had to offer, there were plenty of smiles, laughs and great memories made! 💜

They also loved getting out and supporting our amazing Inclusive Eats Team, who were working hard under the Pavilion, cooking up a storm in the heat! 🔥

We are so proud of our participants and staff for getting involved and being such a big part of this wonderful community event.

A huge THANK YOU to David Williams and the NAA for generously donating tickets, carnival ride and lunch for our amazing participants. It’s moments like this that remind us just how lucky we are to be part of such an incredible town that truly values and supports its local community.

Make sure you come down to the Singleton Show tonight and say hello to our Inclusive Eats Team under the Pavilion, grab something delicious to eat and support our participants, staff and the wider Singleton community! 💜

💜Sending a huge congratulations to our newest Life Member, Marianne Reynolds!

This week we has the pleasure of welcoming Marianne as a Life Member here at Witmore, celebrating an incredible 11 years of volunteering and supporting our organisation.

Marianne joined our Board back in 2015 and has been a valued part of our organisation ever since. For 11 years she has volunteered her time for monthly meetings, shared her knowledge & advice and helped guide and support our organisation.

If you have had the pleasure of meeting Marianne, you will know just how lovely she is. We are so lucky to have her on our Board and always look forward to seeing her each month for our meetings and a good catch up!💜

She is always here to lend a hand, from scoring our Trivia Night to helping at fundraising events and joining us for morning teas, presentations, grant ceremonies and plenty of moments along the way.

We are very lucky to have people like Marianne who choose to give their time, knowledge and support to organisations like ours. Our Board is made up of volunteers and without people willing to give their time so generously, not-for-profits like us could not exist.

Thank you Marianne for 11 wonderful years of being part of our Witmore family. We are so lucky to have you and so proud to now call you a Life Member💐
