NDIS LEGISLATION UPDATE | What this means for our community🔔

Today, the Securing the NDIS for Future Generations Bill passed the Senate, clearing its final parliamentary hurdle.

We know announcements about changes to the NDIS can create uncertainty for participants, families, supported employees and the people who work across the disability sector.

For our Witmore community, our message is simple: there is no need to panic and nothing changes overnight.

The Bill will become law once it receives Royal Assent and many of the changes will be introduced progressively rather than all at once.

As more details, timelines and guidance become available, our team will review what the changes mean in practice and keep our community informed.

At Witmore, we have been supporting people with a disability in the Singleton community for more than 68 years. Funding models, legislation and governments may change but our purpose does not.

Witmore will continue to focus on:
• Providing quality, person-centred NDIS supports
• Creating meaningful employment and training opportunities
• Helping people build skills, confidence and independence
• Supporting families to navigate change
• Advocating for genuine inclusion in our community

We will continue to follow the NDIS changes closely and communicate what matters, when it matters, without adding to the noise.

There is still more information to come and we will share further updates as the implementation timeline becomes clearer.

Witmore is here. We are prepared for change; we remain focused on the people at the centre of everything we do.

$40,000 raised!📣

We are so excited to share that our 2026 Film & Fame Trivia Night, presented by AGL, raised an incredible $40,000 profit!

A huge thank you to AGL, all of our event sponsors, local businesses and everyone who donated prizes or supported the night. And of course, thank you to everyone who came along, bought raffle tickets, bid in our auction and got involved in all the fun!

A special thank you also goes to our amazing staff and volunteers who put in a huge effort before, during and after the event to make the night happen.

For a local not-for-profit like us, $40,000 is a huge result and will go straight back into supporting the work we do, our participants and our social enterprises.

We are feeling very grateful to have such a supportive community behind us. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this year’s Trivia Night Fundraiser such a success💜

We are looking for a Receptionist Support Worker to join our team.

You will be the first point of contact for our organisation, supporting reception and administration across multiple departments.

You will also work alongside our Reception Supported Employee team, mentoring, guiding and encouraging them as they develop workplace skills, grow in confidence and work towards their NDIS employment goals.

If you are an experienced receptionist or administrator who enjoys working with people and wants to use your skills to help someone else learn, grow and succeed, we would love to hear from you.
