When a family is experiencing financial difficulty, it can add a lot of pressure on them.

The Dyson Family Foundation is a not for profit organisation whose mission is to help combat weekend hunger and provide educational opportunities to underprivileged youths. Every parent wants to be able to provide for their children, but sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise, and families could just use a bit of outside support to lighten the load. The Dyson Family Foundation has been establish

ed to offer that bit of help to families. It has created the Backpack Pal initiative, which will provide food packs for weekends to students of families that may be experiencing financial strain.

A huge thank you to Scott and Ana Porter and The Happy Tooth Scone for their generous donation of Mini Monster Kits to our Backpack Pal Program! 🪥✨

These kits are a fantastic way to help children learn the importance of good dental hygiene and healthy habits from an early age.

For some children, access to basic hygiene products isn’t always a given. This generous donation is helping us give kids the tools they need for a healthier, happier smile! 😁

I'm incredibly honored to share that the Dyson Family Foundation has received two Public Education Week Awards for Outstanding Contribution by a Community Member from both the Singleton Learning Community and the Cessnock Community of Great Public Schools.

This recognition means so much to us because it reflects the incredible partnerships we've built with our local schools through the Backpack Pal Program. Together, we're ensuring children have access to food over the weekend in a way that is discreet, supportive and centered on their wellbeing.

Thank you to every principal, teacher, wellbeing officer and school staff member who works alongside us each week.

I'd to make special mention to our wonderful volunteers who help make the Backpack Pal Program possible each and every week. You are amazing and I am so grateful to the 3 of you!

Here's to continuing to make a difference for local kids. 💙
