Deadly Cultural Connections Program
During Term 1, students at our college were blessed to be part of the Deadly Cultural Connections Program developed in partnership with the Wonnarua Nation Aboriginal Corporation (WNAC) and the Australian Catholic University and delivered by Waagan Galga. The program is a dedicated cultural wellbeing and identity-strengthening initiative for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in Years 7โ€“10.

Students enjoyed a range of activities throughout the term including cultural knowledge sharing (bush tucker, bush medicine, Dreamings), cultural arts (weaving, dance, boomerang workshops), sessions with young Indigenous role models, and a one-day cultural camp visiting a significant site.

We cannot thank the team, especially Jeremy, Jidah and Zoran, at Waagan Galga enough for their care, knowledge and engagement with the students. The students are already asking for more.
