This has been a fantastic collaboration between ourselves and Selby Primary School to ensure all students are being taught everything relating to fire safety.
With Selby being a much smaller community than others, and this being a great chance to recruit future new members into our brigade, then hopefully we can start engaging the next generation of firefighters.
A great program, and a fantastic job being delivered by equally enthusiastic volunteers from our brigade.

As the weather warms up this weekend, take care when burning off 🍂
It could be a great opportunity to get a start on your property clean up leading into summer but remember to make sure conditions locally are suitable for burning off.
Make sure you have an adequate water supply and make sure an adult is always in attendance and fully extinguish your burn off with water when finished 🔥

🚒 Supporting the volunteers who support our community – Presentation 9 of 17 🚒

Continuing our series of CFA brigade presentations, we’re pleased to share the ninth of seventeen local brigades across the Dandenong Ranges receiving a $10,000 donation from Community Bank Upwey & District and Community Bank Emerald & District.

Together, these donations represent a $170,000 investment back into our local fire brigades, supporting the important work they do to help keep our community safe.

Our Business Development Manager, Andrew, recently had the pleasure of visiting Selby Rural Fire Brigade to personally present the donation and hear how this contribution will support their brigade.

“This very generous donation is a big deal for a brigade like Selby. We have limited opportunities to fundraise, and this really takes the pressure off the brigade, who can now focus on firefighting and not fundraising. We have a number of projects that will now see completion and we cannot thank you enough. Your ongoing support is very much appreciated”

It’s fantastic to see how this support will help provide better facilities for volunteers and assist the brigade with future needs.

We look forward to continuing to share how these donations will make a difference across our local CFA brigades.

With the warmer weather starting to roll in, now is a great time to get outside and start preparing your property for summer. 🌻

Clear your gutters, tidy up garden waste, prune back overhanging branches and keep your grass maintained. Small jobs now can make a big difference when the fire season arrives.

⚠️ REMINDER – PUFFING BILLY RUNNING FESTIVAL TODAY🏃‍♂️🚂

Just a reminder to everyone that the Puffing Billy Running Festival is being held today, Sunday 13 September.

The main 13.5km race runs from Belgrave through to Emerald Lake Park, which means there will be a number of road closures and traffic management measures throughout the area.

🚧 Rolling road closures begin from approximately 7:30am and will continue through until around 12 noon.

If you’re travelling through Belgrave, Selby, Menzies Creek, Clematis or Emerald tomorrow morning, please allow some extra time and expect delays or detours.

Please keep an eye out for runners, volunteers, traffic controllers and emergency services working around the event.

Good luck to everyone taking part – and see if you can beat the train! 🏃‍♀️💨🚂

Did you know Clematis Fire Brigade is one of 15 brigades that make up the CFA Dandenong Ranges Group?

CFA Groups bring neighbouring brigades together to provide mutual aid, shared resources, training, planning and operational support.

It means that while every brigade protects its own community with the aid of neighbouring brigades when a larger incident occurs, we don’t face it alone.

From Upwey to Macclesfield, Kalorama to Narre Warren East — our 15 brigades work together across the Dandenong Ranges to protect our communities.
