We’ll share the new date as soon as possible, and we’re still so excited to come together with you all soon.

Thank you for your understanding, support, and continued commitment to standing against domestic and family violence. 💜

Yesterday, we came together for a meaningful tree planting ceremony in recognition of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month. 🌱💜
Alongside students from Bracken Ridge State High School, St John Fisher College St. Paul's School , as well as Cr Sandy Landers, Kelly, we paused to honor the strength, resilience, and courage of women, children, and families impacted by domestic and family violence.

Each tree planted represents hope for healing, safer futures, and communities where respect and kindness grow stronger than violence.

As a counseling and support service, we see the importance of creating spaces where people feel heard, supported, and empowered in their healing journey. Events like this remind us that prevention starts with connection, compassion, and community.

Thank you to everyone who stood together yesterday in remembrance, support, and commitment to change 💜

Understanding Coercive Control

Coercive control is a form of domestic and family violence. It is a pattern of behavior used to control, intimidate, isolate, or instill fear. It is often subtle, ongoing, and not always physical.

Coercive control can include:
-Controlling finances
-Monitoring phones or social media
-Isolating someone from family and friends
-Threats, intimidation, or constant criticism
- Controlling daily decisions or movements

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and free in their relationships.

Learning to recognise coercive control is an important step in preventing domestic and family violence 💜

We All Have a Role to Play
Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month 2026!

Domestic and family violence can affect anyone although women and children are disproportionately impacted.

Preventing violence is a community responsibility.

Creating safer communities starts with everyday actions:

🟣 Listening without judgment
🟣 Speaking up against harmful behaviors
🟣 Supporting respectful relationships
🟣 Believing people when they share their experiences
🟣 Staying connected as a community

Change happens when we work together.
This DFV Prevention Month, let’s stand together to raise awareness, encourage respectful relationships, and support safer futures for everyone 💜

“Together, Queenslanders Can Prevent Domestic and Family Violence.”
