🏡 A HUGE thank you from SANDBAG! 💚

It’s hard to believe it’s already been almost three weeks since we held our very first Welcome to 4017 Residents Event!

It was fantastic to see so many new and familiar faces come together, meet local organisations and discover more about what our wonderful 4017 community has to offer.

A massive THANK YOU to all the local groups and organisations who joined us on the day, and of course, to everyone who came along and helped make the event such a success. We hope you made some new connections and left feeling even more at home in 4017. 🏡

🥩 A very special thank you to Deagon Meats for their generous donation of a fantastic meat tray for our event. One very lucky local got to take it home on the day! We really appreciate local businesses like Deagon Meats getting behind community events and supporting our neighbourhood. 💚

What about your important documents, medications, pet supplies or who you’d contact if you suddenly had to leave home?

Most of us know we should have an emergency plan… but life gets busy and it’s one of those things we often put off.

That’s why we’re excited to welcome the Australian Red Cross to SANDBAG for a practical EmergencyRedi™ Workshop.

This isn’t about scaring people or expecting the worst. It’s about sitting down, having a conversation and working out some simple things you can do now to make life a little easier if something unexpected happens.

With Brisbane weather, we’ve all seen how quickly a storm, flooding, power outage or other emergency can disrupt everyday life.

Come along and learn how to put together a plan that actually works for you, your family, your pets and your circumstances.

You don’t need to already have an emergency kit or know anything about emergency planning — that’s what the workshop is for. 😊

Queensland Child Protection Week 2026 🦸‍♂️

From 6–12 September, we’re coming together to recognise Queensland Child Protection Week and the important role we all play in keeping children safe, supported and heard. 💛

Every child deserves to feel safe, valued and cared for, and every child’s voice deserves to be listened to.

This week is a reminder that protecting children is something we can all contribute to. By listening, connecting, supporting families and speaking up when something doesn’t feel right, we can help create communities where children can feel safe.

At SANDBAG Inc, we are committed to supporting individuals and families in our community who may be experiencing hardship, unexpected challenges, or simply need a helping hand.
As demand for our support services continues to grow, we are reaching out to our amazing community for assistance.

Our pantry supplies are running low, and we would be incredibly grateful for donations of the following items:
