38.7kg of litter removed from Col Austin Park and Moores Creek! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐ŸŒฟ

A huge thank you to everyone who joined Capricornia Catchments at our recent community clean-up at Col Austin Park.

Together, we collected an incredible 38.7kg of litter, helping to prevent rubbish from entering Moores Creek, our waterways and ultimately the coast. Every piece removed makes a difference for local wildlife, water quality and the health of our catchments.

It was fantastic to see community members come together, roll up their sleeves and take action for a cleaner, healthier environment. The impact of a few hours of teamwork was clear, with a significant amount of litter removed from the park and surrounding creek area.

๐Ÿ’š Our Park. Our Creek. Our Community.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to make this clean-up a success. Your efforts are helping to create cleaner public spaces and healthier waterways for everyone to enjoy.

This project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government's Sustainability Action Grants program and delivered with support from Rockhampton Regional Council.

๐ŸŒฟ Learning from Country, Culture & Community ๐ŸŒฟ

Last week, our trainees had the opportunity to take part in Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training with Uncle Wade Mann.

It was a valuable opportunity for our trainees to learn more about Darumbal Country, history, culture and traditions, and to deepen their understanding of the connection between people, Country and community.

Weโ€™re grateful to Uncle Wade for sharing his knowledge, stories and experience with our trainees and creating such a meaningful learning experience. ๐Ÿ’š

These opportunities are made possible through the Queensland Governmentโ€™s Skilling Queenslanders for Work program, supporting our trainees to build skills, knowledge and confidence both in the workplace and within our community.

Thank you, Wade, for spending the day with us!
