🌟 Collaboration in action! 🌟
In recognition of International Day of People with Disability, our team recently presented an information session for MyTime Australia, a free support group for parents and carers of children with a disability.
This inclusive group welcomes all carers, even if their child is now an adult.
During the session held at the Rockhampton Neighbourhood Centre, we explored:
✅ The role of peak bodies and carer awareness.
✅ Challenges carers can face like lack of respite and carer burnout.
✅ Emergency planning for the person they care for.
✅ How you can access information about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), connect with community and find other supports that are available.
We're excited to continue our collaboration and plan to deliver LAC in Community sessions at the Centre where you can meet our dedicated local area coordinators (LACs) on site.
