Support After Su***de is a program of Jesuit Social Services and is available in Victoria.

We provide support to people bereaved by su***de through specialised counselling, peer support groups, and resources.

A new month starts tomorrow which means our Bereaved Parents group is gathering on Wednesday evening - the group meets both in person in Richmond and online. On Thursday evening, Chris and David are hosting their monthly group in Warragul.

This Wednesday evening, Julie is hosting a peer support group in Ringwood, whilst in Brunswick, Wayne will welcome people to the Inner North peer support group. On Friday morning, our Frankston Coffee morning is gathering at a local cafe from 10am.

Our Older Adolescent Young Adult (OAYA) Group is gathering in Richmond from 7pm this evening If you are aged between 16 and 25 and have lost a loved one to su***de, you may like to come along and connect with others who share a similar experience in a relaxed environment. This Sunday, there will be a screening of the documentary film "This Man's Worth" at Cinema Nova in Carlton followed by a discussion with the filmmakers. Colin from Support After Su***de will be heading along, and invites others from our community to join him for the screening and a casual catch up afterwards at Brunetti's cafe nearby.

The film was previously broadcast on SBS and SBS On Demand during Mental Health Week in 2022 and subsequently at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival in 2023.

Filmmaker Ash Cottrell shares that while this film discusses the subject of su***de, it is inherently hopeful in its outlook and evokes safe discussions about the importance of purpose and connection to community.
