We are a local charity working with builders, philanthropists, councils and government agencies to turn unused residential land into family homes! The VHF has provided housing for more than 200 homeless.
- by building $7 million worth of houses in suburbs of Melbourne. The VHF is an independent charitable organisation, was founded in the International Year of

Shelter for the Homeless with a clear mission – to help support and work towards preventing homelessness. It achieves this by drawing together philanthropic funds, volunteer and pro bono assistance & donated materials to renovate & build homes. Long-term & transitional housing has been provided in 12 newly-built or renovated houses. A partnership is developed with community & charitable agencies that deliver services to those in need and have the capacity to manage the properties. The Fund has previously worked with the Salvation Army, Hanover Welfare Services, Wesley Central Mission, WAYSS & the Women’s Property Initiative. In Victoria, 22,000 people are recorded as homeless. Over half are under 25 & according to the Council to Homeless Persons, one in six is a child under 12. Government-funded agencies report that one in every two women with children accessing homelessness services is escaping violence in the home. Affordable housing is the bedrock for the welfare of families and individuals. It is almost impossible to be employed without a home! The effects of homelessness on children are particularly dire in terms of their health, education and personal well being. Future projects

2025 was a year full of energy and milestones — a mix of fun and challenges, new fundraising initiatives, and the ongoing commitment of our valued partners. We achieved significant milestones and could not have done it without the support of our incredible community. We look forward to the year ahead and thank all of our supporters for making 2025 such a remarkable year!

This week, we were grateful to celebrate the handover of a new home in the Latrobe Valley, made possible through the collective efforts of our partners and supporters.

The home was built by the wonderful team at Sherridon Homes & Brilley Co.

Now under the care of Women's Property Initiatives, the four-bedroom home will provide safety, stability and a fresh start for a family of five who have experienced significant hardship as a result of family violence.

Thank you to Loy Yang B Power Station and Alinta Energy for their generous funding support, and to the Payton Foundation for providing the land on which this home was built.

We were pleased to be joined by Mary Aldred MP for Monash, who officially opened the home and spoke about the importance of collaboration in helping to reduce homelessness.

We are incredibly proud of this home and what it represents. As our first regional build, it marks an important step for us. Thank you to everyone involved in this project, we cold not have done it without you.

Regenerate is dedicated to helping survivors of family violence rebuild their lives, and they’ve gone above and beyond by committing to donate and assemble furniture for this build —and for future homes to come.

Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser Success! 🌭

A huge thank you to OUR AMAZING VOLUNTEERS who gave up their Sunday to stand outside in the freezing cold, cooking snags and serving with smiles!

The day was such a success, it was more than just a fundraiser – it was a fantastic team-building effort and truly special to be part of. We can officially tick “sausage sizzle” off the charity to-do list!

Between 30 dedicated runners, we raised over $55,000 — all going towards making a real difference in the lives of women and children affected by family violence. 💜

A huge thank you to our longtime supporters Six Star Plus and GoodWe Australia and New Zealand for donating a 10.56kWh Battery Ready Solar System for the Latrobe Valley Project. 🌞🔋

This contribution will help reduce electricity costs for the family moving into their new home, making life a little easier as they begin a fresh start.

The solar system will work hand-in-hand with the electricity plan funded by Origin Energy, ensuring ongoing affordability and sustainability for the household.
