What a fantastic day exploring the hidden underwater world of Moreton Bay! 🌊🔬

Our Rotary Club recently hosted a biological microscope workshop in Scarborough, introducing participants to the fascinating microscopic life beneath the bay’s surface. It was a well-attended event, with plenty of curiosity, learning, and engagement throughout.

A special thank you to Faith from Delta Environmental Consulting for sharing her knowledge and taking us on a deep dive into citizen science — including the amazing world of diatoms.

We’re also grateful to MBCC for supporting the event and providing the microscope that helped bring this hidden world to life.

Diatoms - why they are important in the ecology of the environment ?

Want to learn more? Here is your chance to apply your citizen science (CS) knowledge and pickup some CS.

Pencil in the Tuesday the 26th May from 10am to 2pm in Scarborough to sit with expert knowledge on using biological microscope and get some understanding.
