Today we were thrilled to be joined by our 1st Leumeah besties as we participated in the return of the Fisher’s Ghost Parade as a part of the 70th anniversary of the Fisher’s Ghost Festival. The festival celebrates the local legend of Fred Fisher and it was great to be out celebrating with our community!

Our float depicted a Scout campsite being haunted by Fred Fisher himself - wearing a Scout scarf of course 👻. A massive thank you to Spider for doing the majority of the construction on our little float and to everybody who came down to march and support us.

Tonight the cubs with the help of one of our scout leaders,Spider, used a radio and antenna to listen to, capture and decode a picture being broadcast from the International Space Station. Well done cubs and thank you Spider!

🌭 DON’T FORGET TO HEAD TO BUNNINGS FOR OUR BBQ FUNDRAISER – COME AND SUPPORT OUR SCOUTS! 🌭

The 1st St Andrews Scout Group will be firing up the BBQ at Bunnings Gregory Hills on Sunday, 25th October!

If you’re out and about, tackling a weekend DIY project or simply looking for an excuse to grab a classic Bunnings sausage sizzle, come by and say hello! 🌭

Every sausage sold helps raise much-needed funds for our Scout Group, supporting the activities, adventures and opportunities we provide for our young people.

Bring the family, grab a sausage (on sliced bread, of course! 😉) and help us support our local Scouts.

This year we’re coming together as Hume Region Scouts to march in the Fisher’s Ghost Parade, and we want as many members and families as possible to be part of it!

The parade is a special part of our local community, and there’s something pretty amazing about being in the parade rather than watching it go past.

Our very own Ramoy, along with Hannah from 1st Narellan Scout Group recently led fellow Scouts from 1st St Andrews, 1st Narellan and 1st Mittagong on the 32km, 3 day Light to Light Walk in Beowa National Park on the south coast.

The hike is the culmination of months of planning by Ramoy and Hannah for their Adventurous Journey. It can’t be overstated how much of an achievement leading an Adventurous Journey is; all planning - including risk assessments and activity plans - are carried out by the youth members, drawing on the skills they have developed during their years in Scouting. It’s a huge achievement for 13 and 14 year olds.

Ramoy and Hannah planned and executed this hike under the supervision of Hume RC for Activities Aussie and 1st St Andrews’ Leader Waru who both volunteered many hours to ensure the planning stayed on track and transporting the youth members to and from the start and finish points.

We are so proud of all of the Scouts who took part in the hike: Clare, Jackson, Tex and Bailey, for supporting Ramoy and Hannah and completing the hike.

And of course, a huge congratulations to Ramoy and Hannah themselves on this incredible achievement.

After an action-packed Term 3, we hope our Joeys, Cubs and Scouts have had time to relax these holidays in preparation for another full term to finish out the year.
