Rise Above Macarthur United Foundation is a community led not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting young people and families across the Macarthur region. Through its major initiative, Play It Forward, the foundation provides disadvantaged children and young people with brand-new sporting and extracurricular equipment, uniforms and essential resources so they can participate alongside their peers with confidence and dignity. From football boots and sporting gear to dancewear, school essentials and creative arts resources, Play It Forward exists to remove barriers that prevent young people from feeling included, connected and supported. The foundation works closely with local schools and wellbeing teams to ensure support reaches the young people who need it most, while also delivering wellbeing, resilience and leadership initiatives through programs such as IYKYK.

How good is it to make meaningful connections?!

That's exactly what we got to do recently, when we headed to the Macarthur BMX Nationals event, with our Sports AWARE Project.

We got the chance to chat to many young people, parents, carers and supporters - from across the country and abroad, as well as plenty from our own local region. We handed out goodies and information, chatted about help-seeking, preventing harm and supporting one another, all while taking in the action and racing!

Thank you to Macarthur BMX for having us for the day, and for all you do to support and encourage young riders in our community. Mac Pirates were out in force with over 80 riders on track representing our region! How good is that?!

Thanks also to Wests Group Macarthur, our Sports AWARE Project Partner, whose support makes it all possible.
