You may have heard the news this week about the NDIS Amendment Bill passing Parliament.

News like this can bring up a lot of questions and uncertainty. We know there’s a lot being discussed right now, and we’re working through what it all means too.

Nothing changes for you today. Your current plan, funding and supports continue exactly as they are. Most changes will roll out slowly between now and 2028 and won’t happen overnight.

As we learn more, we’ll continue sharing clear, practical updates so you know what’s changing, when, and what it means for you.

It's a fair question, especially given “Carer” and "Support Worker” don't mean the same thing these days. But the answer is no. The story behind our name goes right back to why Carer Solutions was founded.

Every person we support (or as we call them, every Partner) has a dedicated Community Engagement Specialist. Whether you’re in a capital city or a remote community, they’re always just a phone call away, and when the opportunity arises, they’ll happily come and see you in person.  

We know that matters because:

🧡 Sometimes it’s easier to talk face to face, so we’ll come to you, answer your questions, check that everything is running smoothly, and help you get the most out of your Direct Employ arrangements
☕ A real conversation over a cuppa can go a long way, which is why we host morning teas for our community too
💭 More than anything, it’s about building a genuine relationship, so when something comes up, big or small, it’s nice to have a specialist you already know and trust to call

Jane is joined by disability advocate Jarrod Giustino Sandell-Hay for a frank conversation about NDIS reform and the growing disconnect between policy and lived experience.

The disability community simply wanted a seat at the table.

Instead, some of the biggest reforms to the NDIS are underway without input from the people expected to live with them.

In this episode, Jane Morrell and disability advocate Jarrod Giustino Sandell-Hay unpack what happens when lived experience is treated as an afterthought instead of the starting point for good reform.

They explore the impact these changes are having on people with disability and their families, why advocates feel burnt after years of working with government, and what needs to happen if trust is ever going to be rebuilt.

But this episode isn't just about what's been lost. It's also about what's worth fighting for.

This month, Carer Solutions turns 15 🥳🎉

It all started with our founder, Jane Morrell, sitting in living rooms across Australia, listening to families who were exhausted, frustrated, and running out of options.

Instead of accepting the status quo, she built something different. What began as one bold idea now supports thousands of Australians to live life on their terms.

To every Partner, family, Support Worker and team member who has been part of this journey, thank you.
