A day to remember at the Royal Perth Show!

Last weekend, a group of Interchange WA customers travelled by train to the Royal Perth Show and enjoyed a day filled with fun, connection and community.

From exploring the showgrounds and playing sideshow games to shopping for show bags, there was plenty to see and do. Most importantly, it was an opportunity to spend time with friends, try new experiences and create lasting memories.

Community outings like these are made possible by the dedication of our Support Workers, who helped ensure everyone had a wonderful day.

Nothing brings people together quite like good food, great conversation, and a relaxed afternoon.

The Interchange WA Belmont Team hosted a BBQ and it was a perfect opportunity for customers and their support workers to come together, connect, and enjoy time with one another outside the everyday routine.

These moments are a great reminder of the power of community, with locals supporting locals, building relationships, sharing experiences, and strengthening the sense of belonging that sits at the heart of what we do.

𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵: 𝘈𝘳𝘵, 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 🎨

An art activity at Lakelands Library in Mandurah brought people together through creativity, connection, and shared experiences.

Initiated and managed by Interchange WA with the support of Lakelands Library, these activities create an inclusive space where people with disability can express themselves, build confidence, learn new skills, and connect with others in their community.

𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗦 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟭 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄

New NDIS reforms impacting participant plans will begin rolling out from 1 October 2026, but that doesn't mean everyone's funding will change on that day. Changes will be introduced gradually as plans are renewed or reassessed.

Budgets will be reduced over the following 12 months in these support categories:
⚪ Social, Community, and Civic Participation
⚪ Capacity Building: Improved Daily Living Skills

The impact will be different for every participant because every plan is based on individual goals, circumstances, and support needs. The reductions will be applied as plans are created or reassessed from 1 October 2026 or renewed from 1 February 2027.

This change is part of the new NDIS laws. For the latest information, visit www.ndis.gov.au.

Meet Jantakan, a Support Worker from our Complex North Group Neighbourhood, who believes empowering people starts with listening. Through everyday acts of respect, advocacy, and encouragement, she helps customers feel heard, valued, and confident in making their own choices.
