An interesting take

Tokyo Ghoul creator Sui Ishida once made a joking remark about the anime adaptation .

"It’s better to have a terrible anime than a good one.. that way people will want to check out the original manga story."

A lot of the fandom believes the anime left out or altered major moments from the original manga, especially in its later parts. Because of this, many viewers eventually turned to the manga to see the complete version of Kaneki’s story.

Even after all these years, discussions about a proper manga-faithful adaptation still refuses to die.
