This is a project for Vic Park PCYC. Out of school care unit. The Kids voted that building Billy Carts was the next project for them to do with the mens shed. This is the first one off the bench and drawing board. (Autocad actually)

She’s back! And had a bit of a glow up!

For those curious, our ‘purple’ bench is back, thanks to the epic craftsmanship and kindness of the fellas at the Victoria Park Mens Shed 🛠️ who even went above and beyond to pick up and deliver it 💕💕💕

At the start of the year, we returned from our office closure to find our lil pal here in bits, we thought she was not salvageable but the lads have done a wonderful job restoring her!

It meant a lot to receive the wave of offers of help when we posted about this and we’re so chuffed to have got this help from Men’s Shed Vic Park.

Now, there may have been some confusion on the colour scheme 🙃🙃🙃 but we do love the creative vision here and our newest artwork!!

Our shed mate "Mark" was asked by his family if he could refurbish this old family toy a Rocking Horse.
It had been in storage for quite some many years. Now the new generations of grand kids are going to get back into the saddle of this family treasure.
Mark did a fantastic job on this old Dobbin, and with new paint, a better toupee than DJT can afford.
Please note the Saddle, Bridle, Reins , and stirrups. Even a lambskin saddle blanket.
The rocking frame was stripped remodelled slightly, coated and polished, along with new fittings it looks like it has just come off the shelf.
Well done Mark we are all impressed.

Today we had a very gratifying morning at the shed.
Following quite a few manhours of preparation from Keith, Carsten,Tom, Twenty Bird Houses were cut out and prepared for assembly by the kids.
Then on the day the kids and PCYC staff joined us at the shed for House Building day. Carsten, Rod, John, Mike, Mark, Dom, Peter, and some PCYC educators all assisted the kids in assembling their individual units. Lot of fun helping them use tools, E.g. Drilling holes with "Old" (no power) technology, alongside the new battery powered drills. Measuring, sawing to length, gluing and screwing using screwdrivers and also battery powered screw drivers. These session are good fun for the kids and for us Ould ( Lapsed children) Fellas

We’re proud to support the Victoria Park Men’s Shed, a place at the heart of Vic Park where woodworking and gardening are just the beginning.
From tradies to professors, members come together to share skills, swap stories over coffee, and support one another through life’s challenges.
Thanks to Monos’ support, the team built new timber racks that transformed their daily operations. But the real impact goes far beyond storage.
