World MS Day is an international awareness day for everyone affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). It brings the global MS community together to share stories, raise awareness and campaign for change. World MS Day is on 30 May but activities take place throughout May and early June.

MS is one of the most common diseases of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). Today, an estimated 2.9 million people around the world have MS.

Information about local campaigns, support services, and how to get involved is on the MSWA Events Page or the official World MS Day website.

Cam Can is standing strong with those affected by MS.

Today marks Global Accessibility Awareness Day — a day that highlights the importance of accessibility and inclusive design in all areas of life.
Accessibility is about ensuring people can access information, services, technology, and opportunities without barriers. Creating inclusive environments benefits everyone and helps build communities where people of all abilities feel valued, connected, and supported.
It’s an important reminder that improving accessibility is an ongoing responsibility, and even small changes can make a meaningful difference.

A beautiful sunset in Busselton, the night before our South-West Team meeting. Amongst other topics, we talked about the increased need for creative living arrangements due to NDIS cutbacks; how to keep Members with high intensity supports safe; and the importance of obtaining references for Support Workers. Pop in to our Busselton, Bunbury or Margaret River offices if you'd like to know more.

Cam Can had a visit from Alison Fasher from Summer Foundation, as a part of our ongoing commitment to diverse and person-centred Learning and Development.

Summer Foundation is a national foundation that works to improve housing options for people with disability and advocates for better systems so people with disability can live independently in the community. Alison conducted an information session for our Coordinators in metro, broadcast to our South-West and Regional offices, with a focus on host arrangements and live-in informal care.

Thank you Alison for coming in!

At Cam Can, we love seeing Members getting out and chasing the things that matter to them. Samuel did exactly that on Saturday when he headed down to beautiful Bunker Bay to get in the water and give surfing a go.
Samuel arrived full of excitement. Once he was out there, he gave it absolutely everything — paddling hard, taking on the waves, and even giving standing up on the board a crack.
It was awesome to see his determination and effort, and the big smiles along the way.
Huge shout out to Samuel for backing himself and getting out there. What a legend — you smashed it! 🤙

Trevor has a strong passion for travelling, and last year he travelled to Darwin to visit family. During his visit, he attended the Darwin Military Museum, where he is pictured with an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC). Trevor shared that he drove these vehicles during his time in the Army in the 1970s, making the experience especially nostalgic and meaningful for him. Trevor is very proud of his service, and this visit was a wonderful opportunity for him to reconnect with an important part of his life.
