Five years ago today, I shared that I was about to speak to my son on the phone after years of not hearing his voice. I was nervous, excited, and holding onto hope.
Today, five years later, I get to share a photo of him with his little brother.
This is why I do what I do.
Not because it's my job. Not because it's a career. But because this is real life.
Behind every statistic is a family. Behind every service is a person fighting to heal, reconnect, and rebuild their life.
Recovery is possible. Healing is possible. Reunification is possible.
We need to keep investing in support services, recovery programs, and safe spaces because the outcomes change lives for generations.
Today I'm reminded that hope is powerful, and change is possible when people are given the right support.
