Captains log - Day 17 of travels in a sh*tbox… the final leg of phase 3 is underway! Headed back to Sunshine Coast today, no more tshirts and shorts, no more bumpy, dusty roads, no more wide loads! We left in a Tarago, designed with lots of colour and interactive board games, full of hopes and dreams.. we return with full hearts, empty wallets and a replacement sh*tbox!! Recovery phase for the tarago will be completed within the month, removal of dust and dirt from hair will be this week and everything else will blend back into normal life!!! Only thing left is to draw the raffle, I’ll do that this weekend so raffle extended until Saturday, will do a live draw event on Sunday 30 August 2026, time to be confirmed!! Let’s begin Phase 3 in Cranky Commo! This is salvage and journey home phase 😂🙏🚙 as we have limited reception until salvage, we will draw the raffle either tonight or tomorrow morning so you still have time to buy tickets in our $1000 prize draw and also help our final tally move towards $15000! What a magic week, lots of challenges and all we’re faced with the best buddy group - BG1!! A great buddy group will get you through all the good and bad times on a rally and we certainly had the top shelf!! 💋💕 stay tuned, this is only part 2 of this journey!!!!

It’s our bittersweet end to what has been a truly magical experience for the teams of Sh*tbox Rally 2026 (almost) Spring Edition. When these truly incredible teams roll over the finish line, it will be absolutely epic. It will be the culmination of a year’s worth of fundraising. It will be the end to an tremendous adventure of grit, humour and heart. There will be tears. There will be smiles. There will be hugs and there will be more tears.

And that was the end of the journey for one of us! It’s a no-ra-go for us 😭 unfortunately 10km or so into the first patch of dirt yesterday did the strut in again! So it’s now a Tara-gone….. for now!! We have hitched a ride with our awesome buddy group 1, bought another car to drive from Darwin back to the tarago in a couple of days to see what we do with it! It will be a salvage rally 😂😂 but, we get participation medals this morning so look out for that 😂❤️ Phil Driver Melinda Ireland
