Partnerships are what help us change the cancer experience for others and since we started almost 8 years ago, Metro Hotel Perth and Metro Hotel Perth City have been there with us. In this past financial year, Blue Dot Army has booked 590 room nights between the two Metro Hotels now in Perth. This might not sound like much to some, but to us it's a dream come true. This figure represents 590 nights where people haven't slept in their cars or on the streets - that story was heard so many times in the waiting rooms - a story we hope we don't need to hear again. Happy 50th birthday Metro Hotel Perth and thank you to everyone who donated to this campaign. We are forever grateful.

From today, most wine bottles can be returned as 10¢ containers under the Containers for Change Scheme – YES - Wine bottles. We'll give you a moment to let that sink in. 🍷

Now, we're not saying you should immediately inventory every bottle in the house... but we're not not saying that either.

Here's the deal: drink in moderation (we know, we know), return your bottles, and donate those 10 cents to Blue Dot Army. Every single cent goes into a dedicated fund used exclusively to reward our incredible volunteers, the legends who show up, roll up their sleeves, and make the magic happen for people on a cancer journey. 💙

A little shout out to our friends at Laser Skin Care Australia in South Perth 💙

If you've been through traditional radiation treatment, you'll know about that small permanent tattoo which is the pinpoint mark used to line up the machine for each session.

That little blue dot is not only part of my DNA, it is also the very thing that inspired me to create and name our charity, Blue Dot Army and I now wear it with pride. 💪

I hated my blue dot in the beginning, it changed my world so I understand that for many people, this tattoo can be a painful reminder of a really tough chapter. A mark they'd rather not carry with them every day, and that's completely valid too.

That's why I wanted to share that our friends at Skin Care Australia can help remove that imprint for you, when and if the time feels right and at no cost.

Every cancer journey is different. How we choose to remember or move on from it should be too. Feel free to reach out to the amazing team, have a chat with them and they will support you every step of the way 💙

💙 End of financial year : and what a year it's been !

Before June 30 wraps up, we wanted to pause and share what this year has looked like for our Blue Dot Army community, because none of it happens without people who care.

This financial year, (up until 12 June), we have:

🏥 Supported 220 people on a cancer journey
🛏️ Booked 613 room nights, so no one has to sleep in their car or make the heartbreaking decision to skip treatment because they can't afford to stay in Perth
⏰ Contributed 1,687 volunteer hours walking alongside those who need it most

Every single one of those numbers is a person. A family. A moment where someone didn't have to face it alone.

Our Change500 program raises much needed funds and our aim is to change the cancer experience for 500 people each year, with every dollar raised putting someone in their corner, turning one of life's hardest journeys into one that's a little less lonely.

🎉 Wonderful news for Brett and Lynne!

After 5½ months and a few bumps along the way, Brett and Lynne have finally been given the clearance to return home to Esperance, and what a moment that is. This photo captures it all !🏡

While we are so sad to see them go, there is truly nothing like heading home, and we know that feeling of comfort and familiarity will do them the world of good.

Brett, you have ridden the storm throughout your cancer journey with incredible strength and resilience, and through every step of the way, Lynne has been right there by your side. What a team you are! ❤️

Our volunteers have absolutely loved supporting you both during your time here, and you will be greatly missed. We send you off with so much love, wishing you both abundant health, happiness, and joy as you settle back into life in Esperance.

Safe travels, and take good care of each other. 🌟

💙 What an incredible night at our Connect to Care event last night.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the beautiful Saltbush Training Restaurant at South Metropolitan TAFE in Mandurah last night what a special evening it was.

A huge shoutout to the staff and students at Saltbush who absolutely excelled in every way, from service to event management to cookery, you made the night truly memorable. We are so proud of you! 🌟

The power of storytelling was front and centre as we raised awareness about Blue Dot Army and what we do to change the cancer experience. Because no one should ever face cancer alone. 💙
