Jade is an SDA union member at Smokemart and the new Workplace Protection Order Scheme laws are a game-changer for her.

These laws give employers the ability to apply to ban repeatedly abusive customers for up to 12 months.

These new powers were fought for and delivered by the SDA to protect South Aussie workers.

A safe workplace doesn’t just happen, it’s created by union members.

If you’re dealing with abusive customers in your workplace, speak up by reporting it to the SDA and to your employer 📣

Workers at EG Fuel are standing up for better wages and conditions this week. After workers voted against the last offer, EG Fuel has put another offer on the table.

But the new offer is no better - it still fails to provide a fair pay rise and fair rostering rights for workers.

EG Fuel workers deserve better. That's why we're encouraging all workers to vote NO on the offer this week.

In case you missed it, South Australian McDonald’s workers are taking the stand as part of the SDA’s case over denied paid break entitlements.

This could deliver hundreds of millions in compensation to 350,000+ workers.

This is what being in your union is all about: standing up for what you’re legally entitled to✊

Paid 10 minute breaks are a legal entitlement in fast food. Now we're in the Federal Court fighting for compensation for over 350,000 Macca's workers across Australia who were allegedly denied their right to these breaks.

Young workers should be able to rely on a massive company like McDonald’s to do the right thing.

This case isn't just about compensation for affected workers - it's about sending a message to all Australian employers that no employer is above the law.

Earlier this year, workers at EG Fuel sites voted against the Company’s subpar EBA offer.

4 months after, they’re putting another offer to a vote of workers this week – which still offers no real wage increases or guaranteed improvements.

Workers at EG Fuel deserve better. This offer isn’t it – vote NO this week.

On this day two years ago, we lodged our groundbreaking case to abolish junior rates of pay for 18-20 year olds in retail, fast food and pharmacy.

We ran this case because adult workers deserve to be paid as adults - not on a discount rate.

Now it's becoming a reality. Earlier this year, we won our case to make junior rates for adult workers a thing of the past.

From December this year, junior rates for 18-20 year olld workers will begin to be phased out from retail, fast and pharmacy sectors.

Cases like this are proof that when we stand together, we win.

From 1 July, millions of workers will receive a 4.75% pay rise, including many SDA members. This pay rise didn't fall from the sky. It was fought for and won by union members.

Pushing for better wages is core union business. While we pushed for a real wage increase, employer groups argued for a below-inflation pay rise that would have only seen workers fall further behind.

If you support better pay, join your union.
